I didn't trust Clinton either - still don't. It wouldn't surprise me if he's still fooling around.

William Ayers, maybe not a mentor but, at least a close friend.

Try again. More like casual acquaintance.

Very casual from what I've read.

I’m proud of my country. I don’t know about you – if you heard those words earlier – I’m very proud of my country.’’

"What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud."

They say opposites attract .... Perhaps these two should battle it out .... In a pay-per-view exclusive .... Winners husband, takes all ..... Celebrity Death Match ...... Someone call Don King

Etta,
You must have been named Pollyanna in a previous life!

Damn, it really sucks that I'm too busy to come on here anymore.

That has always been an interesting topic. Ends justify the means and all. I guess were it not for the protestant(puritan) ethic and slavery we may not be here right now. I mean if we had not been conquering slave drivers the world may have never known the US constitution or that freedom could work.

But the venom...my God the venom.

For example, in the post that was closed here was my post:

<It is the Puritan ethic that built the strongest, freest, most prosperous country the world has ever seen. The asian 'work ethic" was growing rice for 2000 years, till we showed them a better way.>

Here is camel's reply:

<<<<Well, I can see the personal attacks are in full swing. That generally means you didnt have a good argument to start with, and thats the case here.

But I digress: Have you ever been to Asia? Have you ever met or worked with anyone Asian in recent years? Judging by the ignorance of your last statement, I think the answer is no.

I work with a fair number of people who are of some Asian descent. ALL are hardworking, every one of them. Nothing is ever too much to ask of them. Ironically, every one of them is able to live within their means. In this area, that means not owning a McMansion and a Lexus.

The Asian work ethic was working hard for what you got and living within your means. If you want to argue the position that we showed them the "better" way of expecting a handout, well, I couldnt and wouldnt expect much more from you.

And to further build on what XDConvert9mm has said, it is VERY hard to be considered the most prosperous country in the world when a few things are happening. Lets examine: Bear Stearns. Sub-prime mortgage crisis. Home equity at an all time low.
Federal Reserve: Homeowner Equity Falls Below 50%
The dollar at an all time low:
U.S. Dollar to Euro Exchange Rate - Yahoo! Finance
Oil prices at record highs:
Oil prices surge past $120 a barrel - Oil & energy - MSNBC.com

Let me ask you, who started with the personal insults and the taunts??? And what "personal attack" is he referring to in my post? He just makes it up..

Well, do you have proof? You would think with the spotlight on Hillary over this past year or more, that reporters would be tailing him. I have heard nothing.
