Corporate welfare is wrong no matter what. I don't care if it's a large company or a small company.

You don't think it's beneficial to the country to have farmland? I do.

This one I kinda have to agree with Etta on, not so much because for the farmland stance but because this is one industry IMO that we can't afford to let die and begin importing yet more produce. That's not to say I agree with the overbloated joke of a farm bill. I don't one bit, particularly when they are doing so well. My own view is to reserve this aid for true family farms in times of trouble only.

I grew up on my grandfather's farm. It was a good way to grow up. More kids should be exposed to it.

Agreed. I didn't grow up on my grandparents but did spend summers there working from age 12-15. Anyone that's put in any true time working a family farm would have a little more appreciation for what they go through to stay afloat than the average voter.

So, my neighbors and I should pay for you to have a nice place to grow up ??

I'd like you to pay for me to have 2,000 more rounds of .223 on hand.....I think it would be nice. Want to know where to send the check ?

My grandfather was a dairy farmer....never took any money from anybody.

Show me a way that you can eat that .223 without the aid of an AR or AK and we can talk. We're talking about a food supply, right?

I don't, not when all the farm land is owned by city folk who only visit the farm once a year and only go there to see if it's really still there. The rest of the time their to busy counting their money or come by to claim a small farmers property by eminent domain.

Are you sure about that? The milk subsidy is one of the biggest there is in the farm business.

I lthink saving farms should start locally anyway. I try to buy as much organic locally grown produce as possible. However, I have to stick to my stance. I see where you are coming from Etta but once you hand out one check you have to hand out more. Course, I don't think our government should be paying farmers to NOT grow their crops.
