So what? Isn't that the goal of good parents in any situation... do better for the kids. I know my grandparents did so for my parents, in terms of education and job advantages. I know my parents strove to provide more for me and my brothers than they had. My parents had nothing to inherit from their respective parents. We three brothers had a meager inheritance when my dad passed. I hope to be able to leave my kid a substantial amount of money, and maybe property. We are not wealthy, but we consider ourselves middle class.

They knew we'd have to make it on our own and helped us as much as they could. I worked for someone who inherited his daddy's business and he literally ruined that business. Guy couldn't even spell the word fuel (always spelled it feul) and never worked for anyone. Just hung out at his daddy's shop. To give you an idea of what this kid was like I'll tell you a true story. Late at night some people busted a window in his dad's motorcycle shop in Houston (very heavily populated area). He actually ran down the street in his underwear shooting at them (he lived on the property). They stole a go cart. He even ran his sister and most of the customers off so he could be in control of the business.

Some people can handle taking over daddy's business and some can't. Some kids take over daddy's business and get big heads like they started the business to begin with. You can't tell them a damn thing. They know it all. Other kids grow into the business, learn it and are successful in continuing to make the business grow or at least keep it up to date. Some fail miserably.

Right now our government is failing miserably. They just can't figure out how to run a business because a lot of them got it handed to them through connections rather than working their way into it.

You have to read and understand the post before you reply. Some people do find it a little hard to follow me at times. Like I said, a good murder mystery in two sentences. You have to think about it first then if you understand make a reply.

Its a gift tax. when people die they give possession they no longer have any use for (being dead) to someone else. If you do away with it you should also support doing away with lottery taxes because that's all it amounts to. ones a paper ticket ones genetic.
