My thoughts exactly on both counts. Sure, it's better to be judged (and sentenced) by 12 than carried by 6; however it shouldn't be like that (a choice between prison and a grave).

No, I cannot guarantee it will not go to that price...who knows. I have gone into great detail what needs to be done to bring it down. Most in the oil biz know exactly what to do...but...the govt. won't let us do it. The longer we wait...the more it will cost and the longer it will take BEFORE the prices start going down.

However, with the types of plans that the Democratic candidates wish to enact...I don't know how it COULD NOT go to 8-10 bucks a gallon or higher.

I have been wanting to post this for awhile now and this is as good a place as any...

I was comparing two people. I was trying to decide who is most dangerous to this country. Who can do the most damage? Who wants to disarm the populous (which we all know will cost countless American lives)? Who will do damage to big oil, and big business in general? What type of "change" they want to bring to this great country will do the most damage???

And my answer, in my mind, is Barak Obama.

and who I was comparing him to was Osama Bin Laden.

Yes...you heard me. I know you'll all think this is more "partisan fearmongering" but as one that works in the oil biz, I don't know how Obama's plans for energy could NOT give us higher oil prices. The man is absolutely clueless as to how to solve the energy issue. I have seen footage on the cable news outlets of his speeches on big oil and other energy related issues. This guy went to Columbia? Sorry...I am not impressed!

Obama has largely shown disdain for white America and pretty much given the middle finger to white males for a voting block. He and his wife seem to be running to spite the majority in America...not because they love this country and admire it. Michelle herself recently said "I am not supposed to be here" as if she thinks that her position and actions are out of spite rather than love of country. I really feel that the Obamas are embarrassed of America and only want to lead as a stick in the eye to the white establishment and this is my main sticking point with these two people. (well...that and their wildly inaccurate economic views)

I am also tired of these two and their supporters telling us how they were disadvantaged as minority members or came from nothing. Give me a break! They are wealthy and went to the best universities in the nation, but act as if they grew up with dirt floors and no plumbing. Not true. Not even close.

Also, are you Obama supporters cool with his past associations? I guess so. I know...Obama does not condone the actions of the Weathermen and he "swears" he never heard any of Wright's hateful speeches...but how can you support a guy that associates with people like this? Do you all not believe that one's associations are a reflection on one's character? I know the left is usually not big on character...they think it does not matter.

I know McCain is no peach and God knows out of all the people that even THOUGHT about running for prez with an "R" beside their name, he would be my last choice...but he is still not nearly as damaging to the nation as a whole, as Obama or Hillary could possibly be. Obama and/or Hillary will divide up the nation even more and stand to enact all sort of catastrophic legislation that will hamstring our already teetering economy and coudl do permanent damage to the country we know and love. And even if they do not enact a damn thing, their divisiveness will put any future plans that could benefit the people into a standstill. Nobody will want to work with these two and if the Republicans tak bac over Congress in 2 years like the 94 Gingrich shift - this will further encourage a standstill on just about every move Obama or Hillary might make.

I know...I hate it more than you will ever know but its time to once again vote against the bigger evil.

I am NOT going to go on about how wonderful McCain is..I don't have it in me to be that intellectually dishonest. The best we can hope for is to maintain the status quo with a McCain presidency....thats it. However, I would love to know what is it about Barack or Hillary that you find appealing. Their plans for the economy are absolutely frightening. Don't think it could not get worse...all the experts in the oil biz tell me that a profits tax will mean 8-10 buck a gallon gas in a hurry. They have not been wrong in the past. Is this the "change" you all want? Why?

So...what is it about Obama or Hillary that makes you feel so good?

Are you aware that something like 81% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track?

I believe McCain would be better than Bush on the environment, but I don't see any sort of improvement on other issues.

Are you aware that President Bush has a higher approval rating (or lower diapproval rating as it may be) than the Democrat-controlled Congress? What's your point?

Sure they do. I'm one of them BTW. That does not mean that I'm willing to give up my vote to a man that promises "change" without spelling out what this entails or any sort of clear, concise plan on how to implement it.

Your hand goes over your heart during the National Anthem. Why? Because your American, and It's AMERICA! Thats it! End of discussion. I don't care what color, race or religion you are. Or about free speech, the right to protest and all that. You honor those who Defended Your right to do these things.
In my opinion Obama shouldn't even be allowed to run after pulling that stunt. And be kicked out of the senate..... We don't need a$$holes like him running this country, one way or another.
I know everyone is going to say, "Well, that's his right, that's America". Negative, unacceptable. Thousands of people DIED so we can even breathe this air and speak English.
Honor the dead.
Who said Obama doesn't honor the military dead? I don't put my hand over my heart during the Star Spangled Banner and many people don't. You do for the Pledge of Allegiance. That's it. And, if your idea of loving America is based on that show of patriotism, then that is pretty shallow.

More blowhard fear mongering ala Rush Limbaugh...honestly, i don't know how anyone can even give that bloviating gasbag the time of day...well perhaps if you are addicted to Faux - news and the likes of Hannity, Coulter et al.

Bottom line is that the supposed conservatives are going to lose this election. And lose it in a big way. That smell is the reek of fear that perhaps someone but narrow minded racist rednecks will be running this country.

Many Americans, including me are sick and tired of being marginalized and relegated to the side lines because we don't subscribe to that crap about trickle-down economics and don't follow a certain brand of fundamentalist "christian' teachings that have usurped many parts of local, state and federal government.

yeah ,yeah ...Obama is a Muslim.... blah blah blah. Moronic posturing by a desperate faction who relizes that 8 years of Republican douche-baggery is going to come to an end. Unfortunately , not an abrupt end , as we will all be paying for the blunders and outright thievery and lies of the current administration for the foreseeable future.

Worry about my guns ?...so what ?...make them all illegal , I couldn't care less...they aint registered anyway and it aint never gonna happen.

You are one funny dude!

That's not saying much! Basically half the Congress is Republican. What's your point?
