Dodd Introduces Major Reform of Credit Card Practices; Believes Industry Changes are Necessary to Protect American Consumers | U.S. Senator Christopher J. Dodd This is what I found right away on Google, but I saw something more recently (like this past weekend) in the papers....can't remember which. I think possibly in a USA Today I may have picked up in the Houston airport....that would have been on Friday. IIRC the information implied the changes were imminent. Peace, D.

Relax D,
As I've said before, despite the fact that I butt heads with you politically I actually kind of like ya. You seem like a decent guy to me, one who stands behind at least semi-reasonable beliefs, even if they don't direct coincide with mine. I hope you can accept my political banter for what it is. Politics. At the end of the day when you climb into bed politics, candidates, laws, and legality don't matter for squat, what matters is that you're alive and free in America. If you ever make it to Reno I'd relish the opportunity to sit down and buy you a beer sometime. I promise I won't call you a dirty hippie and knock your head in with the bottle - Ryan

I'm not surprised at what you say.....I may be an obnoxious "elitist snob", but I don't dislike anyone - especially here. I don't see how anyone can really. Is there a WORSE medium of communications than an internet chat room? Now are there people I think have a lot of soul searching and maturing to go through? Yes...but "dislike"? No... Are some more fun to annoy than others? Obviously...and that's why I'll always quickly cop to being "obnoxious". (and an "elitist jerk")...LOL Peace, D.

There are no fees associated with using a major bank's ATM debit card. Its not like going to the ATM for a withdrawal. Iuse my bank's Visa debit card almost all the time. I never use regular credit cards with revolving charges anymore. I gave up those shackles a long time ago and suggest everyone else do the same. Life is SOOO much better without the weight of revolving credit card debt hanging over my head. I haven't used a real credit card in seven years..nor do I ever plan on it again.
This is what kills me...people get all bent out of shape about having to pay 2-3 bucks for the convenience of using an ATM machine...but never say boo about their income tax rate or most other taxes they pay. Somehow, nothing gets them riled up more than losing that 2-3 bucks at the ATM. Why is this? Do you think those machines are given to the banks for free by the makers? Do you think these machines are free to operate or set up and maintain in all the locations these banks place them in? News flash" they are expensive machines and cost the banks money...so they charge users! Don't like ATM fees? Well, you CAN choose to work around that and not pay the fees by removing your money at the drive through window or going into the lobby. Plan ahead and you won't be caught at midnight without money. If you ARE caught unprepared and a machine is nearby, I don't think the fees are all that bad, considering the convenience. If you don't like paying tons of ATM charges...you are in control...limit your widrawals from the ATM machines...what a concept! I swear, some people think everything should be free. Where does this mentality come from? (sorry...rant mode switching off) - brickboy240
