If I may be so bold ... perhaps Ishpeck was tring to say that Obama couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag. I took it as a swipe at intellect or his ability to articulate. Compared to the robot McCain or the fingernails on blackboard Clinton I think Obama is more than able to hold his own in a conversation. Like it or not Obama is an intellectual as oppossed to the life long politicians that McCain and Clinton are. I know some will disagree but I see far more political pandering (read lack of intellectual perspective) from McCain and Clinton.

Of course you are right..."some will disagree".

But it's hard to imagine how.

Peace,

The only really intellectual stand I've seen Obama take is on the Gas Tax Holiday. This could be because this is one of the very, very few issues he's actually taken a definitive stand on. The rest of the rhetoric IMO is all pie in the sky "change" with no substance behind it or firm, fleshed out plans.

Is change always, always a good thing? Can it go in the wrong direction? I'll offer my opinion on "change" after hearing all that it entails with specifics.

Several of the people I have talked to have said that they are just tired of all the mudslinging and bickering to the point that they aren't going to vote for either. I think the party will divide and lots of voters will vote republican.

1968 democrat convention - riots, etc. the party was never the same since. the hard left took over after that year. Needless to say, they lost in a landslide.

Wow....how truly "American" in spirit!

Besides...what else did we get in 1968? Nixon! What a great deal for the American people. One party torn apart by rioting, the other puts forth an already recognized agent of evil.

End result? Bad for the Dems as mentioned, and bad for the Reps as well. The vice president has to resign in disgrace and plead "no contest" to criminal charges, the president has to resign not long after that in disgrace to avoid an impeachment and an almost certain conviction on REAL impeachable charges.

We get a few years of Ford, then an ineffective Carter as a residual echo of the Watergate fiasco.

And you think 1968 was a great event? LOL....

Indeed. i feel the politicians (esp. the democrats) are as destructive to this country as terrorists could be.

If the party melts down in Denver, they have themselves to blame.

For decades they championed race and gender, now it's all coming back to haunt them. Good riddens to them.

OK got it, but do we really want an even harder left to take over next year?
