So I guess what they are saying now is that the gun violence in chicago is happening because the police are undergunned? Are police consistently getting into gun fights with armed criminals that have superior firepower? Are the police getting killed in the hundreds by these elite fully auto packing punks? All of this is doubtful.

At least one good thing is coming from this. Daley is finally realizing that in order to stop gun violence sometimes you need a little gun violence, not gun control. Now if only he could trust his citizens.

No they aren't getting gunned by the hundreds. They don't go in the very bad areas without lots of backup. That is the effect of being undergunned. They simply reduce exposure which reduces effectiveness of law enforcement.

So a fully automatic rifle is going to make them require less back up and start patrolling the bad areas with less backup now? This is highly unlikely.

Well ask Jody Weis why they need assault weapons. You have my opinion. They aren't doing it to simply spend more money or because the guns look neat in the patrol cars.

I know many cops in Chicago. I can't have an ar15 so they shouldn't get one either. And I haven't heard of a really good gunfight in Chicago between cops and gangster disciples or others in... forever. The cops get there AFTER the gang violence. Not knocking your regular street cop. But to hell with Daley and Jodi Wies.
Who exactly is gonna foot the bill for 13,000 M4's??? The state is 3billion dollars in debt... worst in the nation... who are they gonna tax? And forget the hard cost of the M4's, what about training all those officers??? How much is that gonna cost? The mayor made his bed... let him sleep in it...with all the roaches... along with Obama, Pleger, and the rest of the demo-craps in this god forsaken place.
