oppose a housing bailout?

sign this petition.

Angry Renter: Oppose the Mortgage Lender Housing Bailout

Quote:
All we hear these days is whining from reckless home borrowers and their banks.

But did you know that renters are 32 percent of American households? And that homes in foreclosure are less than 2 percent?

So why is Congress rushing to bailout high-flying borrowers and their lenders with our tax dollars?

Unfortunately, renters aren't as good at politics as the small minority of homeowners (and their bankers) who are in trouble. We don't have lobbyists in Washington, DC. We don't get a tax deduction for our rent and we don't get sweetheart government loans.

Quite simply, we are just Angry Renters. And now it is our time to be heard: no government bailouts!

here here, no one forced these people to get and adjustable rate mortgage. They made their beds, and now they are getting kicked out of them. I don't feel sorry for the lenders either.

You can't feel sorry for the people who were supposed to do the underwriting on the loans. They made bad business decisions and they should have to live with the consequences. But that isn't going to be what happens.

I just want my free health card, food stamps, and welfare check.
Now if I could just find some kids and get on the list for subsidized housing .... Then my retirement plan would be complete

A lot of that lending was finding a sucker, baiting and hooking them. Lie to them seven ways to Sunday and make that money. It's called a con job and our gov knew it was happening.

shame on them. People should pay more attention. The lenders are no different than a used car salesman. Just because they made a bad business decision, they should not get bailed out by a judge who sets them a lower interest rate. At least not without rewarding me for making a smarter decision to go with 5 3/8 FIXED. Remember EQUALITY.

...well considering that the Fed loosened up 200 billion to prop up some of the biggest banks in NYc and then turned around and backed another 30 billion in suspect bonds to help JP Morgan buy out Bear Stearns...

how's that for free markets ?

EQUALITY is how much a corporation can put in a politicians pocket these days. OH! By the way your finance company just adjusted your fixed rate to 16%. All it took was a little money in the right pocket.
