They were orignally posted by another member of this forum a few weeks ago. I will not name him as I don't play that way, if he wishes to make himself know, thats great. If not, thats great too. The truth is, you don't know the sentiment of each and every Iraqi. I am sure there are those that want U.S. forces to leave yesterday and I am sure there are those that are greatful that U.S. forces have made thier lives better. Those photos indicate some people that are happy.

There is an even greater truth that I have come to realize more and more each day. People in the United States have the opportunity to sit at thier computers, bitch and moan about the war that is going on, (both sides bitch and moan, it happens here every day, myself included) and opine about the whole affair. None of it means a damn thing. It might make us feel better to get to yell at someone that thinks opposite of what we do and argue till we are blue in the face, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesnt mean jack.

Being able to see a picture of a kid in Iraq that has a bag of GLUE and some MARKERS and stuff so he might be able to draw some and make a picture makes me feel good. Especially when that kid was born into a hell hole with a bunch of extremists that are intent on killing those that don't believe the right way.. Shia and Sunni. I am happy that kid had one day to hold up his bottle of glue, smile and have a little fun.

So.... I might post some more photos tomorrow. I haven't decided yet.
Are you saying that kids weren't having any fun before we got there?

I'm sure there are plenty of pictures of happy children playing and happy shoppers at the bazaar's shopping, under the old regime.

Yes.
Oh, and I am not going to back that up. Its my opinion. I do not think kids were having fun under the reign of Hussein.

You know, for what its worth. I don't think kids are having fun here either. Thier time is micro-managed by over zealous parents anymore and it sucks. I am gonna make sure my upcoming kid has fun. Lots of getting really dirty, and wet, and scraped knees, and stuff.

There isn't enough of that anymore. Remmber when there use to be commercials that encouraged climbing trees just not near power lines? I think parents now would have a corinary if something like that was on TV today. But it's all good when teenage so-n-so knocks up teenage who ever while drinking and doing drugs on thier favorite TV program they watch as a family because it's "real life" or something.
