When we finish kicking their ass this time, we'll probably not hear from them for another 100 or 200 years.

That is absurd. I'm sorry.

Lol.. I figured you'd like that.

While modestly succinct, it is nonetheless accurate.

Just to jump on the Iraq thing for a moment.

The U.S. was attacked by Al-Qaeda.

Iraq was at that point under sanctions that required them to rid themselves of WMD.

We couldn't find WMD, but yet there were rumors of Iraq giving WMD to Al-Qaeda.

So how could have Sadaam proved that this was false? How can you prove a negative?

We have seen in 2nd Amendment fights that the anti's try to get us to prove a negative - that violence will go down if more people are allowed to legally carry - but then at the same time won't allow people to legally carry. This is the SAME kind of argument.

At some point you have to stop treating people like they are subjects and allow them to make mistakes. Sure, the stakes in the WMD thing are pretty high, but thats why it becomes imperative that our government work like its supposed to and declare war if they believe the intelligence. Tell us why we are going into it, and what the end result will be. How do we know when we are done?

So Iran is in Iraq allegedly? Wouldn't that mean that if we pulled out our troops would no longer be killed by those Iranians? What right do we have to be there any more than Iran has to be there, really?

Lets say Iran is wrong to be in there trying to influence politics. But its equally wrong why we went in, in retrospect. Maybe in Iran they have false intelligence about what we are up to? What makes their error worse than ours?
