Official Bickering Thread

I suggest we have an official bickering thread in the Political View so that people who have gripes with each other can confine their personal complaints to that thread. It's difficult enough to keep threads on topic without individuals arguing back and forth about personal slights.

What do you think?

No thanks. I have decided not to bicker, and just focus on guns, as best as I can. I get in enough political battles at work. And, those are much better because they are face to face.

Well done Etta!

We'll probably have to ask the Mods to make it a Sticky in the PV called "Take it out back".

Great concept!

It is not that often that humor and great common sense meld so beautifully!

Etta, you are a gem and a genius!!! LOL

And kudos to AZXD for the "pillow fight" allusion and graphic. Perfect!!!

That's so interesting......in my "real not virtual" life I NEVER have any "political battles".....I always adhered to the conventional wisdom of politics and religion being poor topics for polite conversation. Never know when you will hit someones "hot button" and get more of a response than you bargained for. Some people just have no sense of humor or willingness to even accept alternative viewpoints and this can create real animosity when there was no such intent.

Here on the Internet, one may state anything they wish and have no risk of offending friends, co-workers, family, whomever....No one with any real relationship in their lives. The anonymity makes it a risk free proposition to "argue, debate, disagree"....who cares if someone you will likely never have to deal with in "real life" takes offense to what you say??

Peace,
D.

The only problem is, if one person has a gripe against someone, how will they signify to the other one that they want to duke it out? It won't be much of a bicker thread if only one side shows up.

Peace,

Delija,

I will agree with your assesment that politics and polite conversation do not mix. As far as religion, I could care. I am not too big on religion for starters, and respect EVERYONE from all religions. Never an issue for me.

I do try to steer away from political topics at work, but tend to get sucked in sometimes. We just had a guy leave that was die hard liberal. He left on a very bad note with me, and had some unsavory parting words about me. To my face, and to Human Resources.

That was it. I keep out of the discussions at work from now on. Sometimes it is hard to bite the lip and move along, but I am getting better at doing it.
