Mo links between Saddam and terrorism starting to emerge....
After all, this is a WAR ON TERROR....
Here's some detail in today's edition of the Washington Post on a paper from IDA which concludes: "Iraq was a long-standing supporter of international terrorism" Some excerpts: "A Pentagon-funded study of the documents failed to find a direct link between Saddam and al Qaeda, the group that carried out the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. But it did establish Iraqi support for Egyptian Islamic Jihad, whose leader Ayman al-Zawahri merged the group with al Qaeda years later." "Many terrorist movements and Saddam found a common enemy in the United States," said the report. "State sponsorship of terrorism became such a routine tool of state power that Iraq developed elaborate bureaucratic processes to monitor progress and accountability." "It demonstrates the intentions of where Saddam was willing to go," Mr. Hoekstra said. "Were there proven contacts between him and al Qaeda? No. Maybe no. But were there clear indications that this was a guy who was more than willing to support Islamic terrorist organizations? This is one more piece of evidence that shows: yeah." Saddam friendly to terror groups*-*-*The Washington Times, America's Newspaper |

Give it up Judge, and give it up Rev. Moon. This is a BS excuse that Bush and Cheney gave after 9/11 to scare Americans into supporting the war. They lied. Saddam was no imminent threat to the United States, if he was a threat at all. His country was decimated by sanctions and bombing. His military capability was pathetic.

Under that rationale, the first gulf war wasn't worth fighting either. His military capability then wasn't a thread to us. Frank

Judge before you go and start titling me as anbecause I have posted the entire article from which you selected a few choice paragraphs.
I'd just like to say, all I did was post the entire article from which you chose a few select paragraphs.

That's the reason I posted the entire article and not a few select paragraphs.

I know you asked Etta, but IMO the best answer in this case is that a lie is the art of deception.
I am not placing blame on any individual, but someone was deceived, and we now deal with the result.
