Cheney again links Iraq invasion to 9/11 attacks as bombing victims are buried

Cheney again links Iraq invasion to 9/11 attacks as bombing victims are buried - Yahoo! News

Some highlights

"This month, an exhaustive Pentagon-sponsored review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents captured during the 2003 U.S. invasion found no evidence that Saddam's regime had any operational links with the al Qaida terrorist network."

Interesting..............

About the Reconcilliation Conference

"But only half of the 700 invited guests showed up, and any real chance for negotiations dissolved when both the leading Sunni Muslim bloc and the powerful faction loyal to the rebel Shiite Muslim cleric Muqtada al Sadr announced boycotts."

"We entered the conference to reaffirm our support for national reconciliation, and we left to show our rejection of all these fake conferences," Nassar al Rubaiye , a Sadr-allied lawmaker, said of his group's walkout. Most Sunnis and Sadrists didn't participate, and Shiite lawmakers in attendance hinted that the groups weren't missed."

It seems as MOST of us know our leaders are lying to us and letting us down and Iraq's leaders are lying and letting them down.

We have troops overthere that will continue to be there untill Iraq's government gets its head out of its ass. I dont see that happening anytime soon.

Seems somethings dont change in 2 years since I was there.

I applaud the U.S. Military for making the headway overthere with the security I have heard about....but my applause ends there!

Two things... one, the headline you and the reporter gave is misleading... cheney didn't link Iraq to 9/11, he linked it to terrorism... he understands this is a war on terror, not just the AQ leadership.

Secondly, I posted (Lies liberals love...) of the numerous links between AQ/terrorist organizations and Saddam.

The facts are out there... while you're entitled to your own opinion, you're not entitled to your own facts.

All I did was post a published article and added my opinions at the end.

I feel most would agree with my opinions.

I have seen little evidence outside of the bush admin. shows as their own showing much of the things you hold to be true about Iraq and terrorism prior to the war.

I am talking about things we know as facts now not what the "evidence" showed in prior to '03.

I've always said they needed stability to coalesce the gov't... I think as stability has improved, so has the gov't... In the next day or two, I'll post on the progress the gov't has made, but that hasn't been in the media.

Everyone should remember, after the Revolutionary War, during peacetime, it still took us 13 years to form a government and it was a little shaky for a while..

I wish you would stop comparing this to colonial America. We won our independence. While the colonies didn't want to live under British rule, they hadn't given much thought to the United States.

The war was over, nobody was dying, and foreign soldiers were not sacrificing their blood for our time. There was no hury to enact a form of government that had never been attempted before. There was no blueprint to go with.

Hello, technology. Do you remember that in those days getting to the capital took 2-3 days by horse. There was no mail system. there were very limited printing presses, and a little thing called telephones and computers had not been invented yet.

While this may very well take more time that thought, the number one thing that has taken the most time is for all the waring factions to sit down at the table and do what is right for the COUNTRY. Meantime American soldiers are spilling thier blood to secure THEIR security and freedom, while the government takes off the Summer, and half the invited guests boycott the recent unification meeting.

Please spare me the comparisons to the founding of the U.S. Not the same situation, not the same circumstances, not the same assets, not even the same century.

Well Communication made for alot of delays back then.....Im sure if the internet or satalites were around that number would dwindle down some....and again....it's not a fair comparison.

I look forward to your post on improvments by the government. I agree the media dosent tell us the full truth, they tell us what will help ratings.

I feel our government is doing a better job in iraq then their own government. SAD!

Very impressive, but the government still hasn't met it's benchmarks, and that's what gets us out of there.
