An FYI to all - PBS series 'Crossroads' puts Iraq in the cross hairs

PBS series 'Crossroads' puts Iraq in the cross hairs

The PBS series "America at a Crossroads," which airs on six consecutive nights beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, arrives mired in controversy, which isn't surprising, considering that it takes as its broad subject the state of the world and this nation in the wake of Sept. 11.

Just ran across this and thought I'd post an FYI for those who might be interested. Read more by clicking the above link.

In case you missed it. A good informative show. Tomorrow night is on the troops in Iraq.

Yeah i liked it as well. There is another excellent documentary I recommend that is similar. "The Power of Nightmares" (parts 1,2, & 3; each about an hour): http://video.google.com/videosearch?...=1&sa=N&tab=wv

It is by the BBC so it has more of a global view and the first part parallels last night's "Crossroads" pretty well. Although, the first part of "Nightmares" explores Sayyid Qutb and his dogma more in depth and also Leo Strauss and the movement he founded, neo-conservatism. The whole series talks about the collision course both have been on for the last 50 odd years. Good stuff but less about America and more about the West v. radical Islam than "Crossroads" is.

Here's an older thread about them: power of nightmares

The one I made recommending the movies before this is so old it got deleted. I would also say that you should read the book by the bin Laden CIA head, Michael Scheurer, Imperial Hubris and Charlie Wilson's War by George Crile. There are some other out there to read, get more of a story than what fits into an hour of TV.
