Achmadina-jyhad releasing the hostages as a gesture of "goodwill" reminds me of the scene in Schindler's List where the Nazi in charge of the concentration camp (Ralph Fiennes) walks around "pardoning" the prisoners like some sort of magnanimous king, but then in the end just goes back to shooting them. This entire episode is pretty typical of just what a theater of the absurd the region has become.

It will be interesting to see what Blair and the former prisoners say once the Britons are back in their country. Maybe then they will speak out and say they were threatened and beaten to say what they said.

What ticks me off is that Briton let Iran humiliate them on the world stage and then basically thanked them for releasing hostages that Iran took. Totally ridiculas. Iran was really just testing the resolve of the west and now knows Briton will not move against them. Iran will get bolder now and I'm guessing they will continue to push the envelope untill the U.S. deals with them; since we're the only ones left with balls here in the west. For now.

This was a stroke of genius from the Iranians. What a propaganda coup this is. Just wait...the comparisons are inevitable...Abu Graib Vs. treatment of captured British soldiers...

It is absolutely astounding how Abhleamajzad (sp) is able to keep the world's eye off of his nuclear ambition. The U.S. needs to get some serious backing from Europe, Russia and China to impose sanctions on Iran. They can't eat their oil so let them drown in it.

I'd like to blow those Iranians to hell and back but I'm happy for the Brits being released and their families.

They need to make sure the next time it's Iranians who get captured not the other way around.

Wow, I can't believe someone has worked something out without declairing pre-emptive war on a country... Interesting. Looks like diplomacy works from time to time...

I agree. Blair is indeed smarter than Bush. Honestly I would vote for Blair over any presidential candidates we have now, if he could run for our president.

There are severe restrictions regarding the ownership/use of firearms in England. In many area, COPS AREN'T EVEN allowed to carry guns!?!?!

Tony Blair is a member of the Labour Party in England. They are a left of center group, similar to the democrat party in America, but with more socialist roots.
