Anyone who has Dish Network should get Link TV. They have a show called "Mosaic" that translates all the day's news broadcasts in the middle eastern countries.

http://www.linktv.org/mosaic/streamsArchive/

According to Iranian news, the British Soldiers thanked Iran for the release. They kinda make it sound like they were captured by Princess Cruise Lines and subjected to wine, women and song the whole time. Now that they are back in England the stories come out of being blindfolded for 24 hours a day and isolation from their comrades and lining them up against a wall while the Iranians cock their rifles.

Tony Blair is a member of the Labour Party in England. They are a left of center group, similar to the democrat party in America, but with more socialist roots.

That is what a lot of those far-leftists don't understand when they lump Bush and Blair in the same group. They might agree about Iraq, but they probably disagree on most everything else.

On the flip side though, it is because of Blair's socialist, left leaning political background that makes him all the more unique when he chose to stand along side the US on the war. He could have done the same like most other European leaders and be indifferent.

But I agree with you, the similarity between him and Bush stops right there.

I think Blair has the intelligence and leveled head to make diplomacy work to his favor that our cowboy President in the White House could only dream of. When it comes to the choice between preserving the lives of his own troops at the cost of playing politics with the country he doesn't agree with, and sending more troops to die because he felt the urge to "teach a lesson," Blair made the choice that I believe is intelligent.

That's for sure. That was part of my point--the far-leftists forget that Blair shares a lot of similarites with them. Well...they either forget or they choose to ignore it.

It shows that it is possible for people with differing ideologies can share common ground on even the most controversial issues.

I guess the question was: who could afford to start another war over the sailors?

I was reading this article in Time; pretty alarming to say the least.
"America's broken-down Army"
http://www.time.com/time/nation/arti...606888,00.html

I guess that explains why the Cheney bunch, who were all gun-ho about starting another war with Iran a few months ago, are now all silent about it. It's not because they don't want to do it, but because they can't afford to do it.
