Gore's green house

An inconvenient truth for sure you twit.

http://www.snopes.com/politics//bush/house.asp

The only thing green about the Belle Meade residence is the money spent on utilities to heat/cool the house.

$2,400 a month for natural gas is quite a bit. I'd bet most of the gas is used for the pool.

There must be some kind of implied correlation between Al Gore and Natural Gas

What was that old saying - something about "glass houses and throwing stones"?

My my - here's "Mr. Environment" hisself - and what was that I heard about him making $20k per year on a mine on his property that dumps pollution into the watertable?? Hey - he's "Mr. Green Peace" hisself - the more "green" you throw at him, the greater his "peace"!

Typical two faced politician......

With all the bullcrap that spews from Al Gore, I'm surprised he hasn't found a way to power his house with methane gas.

I'm sorry, but I missed the part of the article where it shows that because Al Gore uses a lot of Natueral Gas &/or eletricity that global warming doesn't exsist... I know it's got to be in there somewhere because I hear this talking point all the time from the right... Al Gore uses lots of gas, so global warming must not be real...

On another subject, not too far removed, if I had a pistol against my head, and one guy told me it wasn't loaded and the other guy told me it was... Chances are, I'm going to side with the guy that says it's loaded, because the risk is too great if the other guy is wrong....

Just a thought...

Read my other posts concerning this before you get all jumpy. If the planet warms up another degree over the next hundred years, it's not going to blow your brains out so stop with the hyperbole.

It's more of the "do as I say, not as I do" from another elitist snob.

No one is saying that, I think the more common argument is just that Gore sure has some huge balls to go around telling everyone to conserve and reduce their energy consumption and drive small cars and whatever and then he has this gigantic power sucking mansion and a Gulfstream.

Here's a calculation I did from an old thread:

Over all the earth, that's 652,517,026,400 watts being radiated/convected into the surrounding air which is bound to increase the temperature.

- Jet stream velocity is 118 mph and assume velocity at surface is 20 mph
- Let's call average velocity 6072 ft/min (69 mph)

cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air flowing around the earth: 4.347E+13 sq. ft.* 6072 ft/min = 2.64E+17 CFM

From earlier posts, Q(heat) = 2.23E+12 BTU/hr (652517026400 watts).

So, temperature rise = Q/(1.08 * CFM)
= 2.23E+12 BTUH/(1.08 * 2.64E+17 CFM)
= 0.0000078 degree rise from body heat.

Let's say that all the motors, power plants, etc. equals 1,000 times the body heat generated (and add heat generated from body heat).

This gives us an equivalent energy output of 7,170,000 megawatts (that's 358,500 power plants generating 20MW) and all this energy increases the temperature a whopping:

0.008 degrees.

dT = 4.92E18 BTUH/ (1.08 * 2.64E17)

This raises the air temperature:
17.2 degrees
