Thumbs down Democrat Majority Power Delivers--The largest tax increase in history!!!

http://budget.house.gov/republicans/...r20070322b.pdf

You all should check out this .pdf. It paints a VERY scary picture of what the dems have in store for us if they win the White House and their congressional majorities increase any further.

Here are a couple of highlights, but you really should check out the .pdf.

--------------
SUMMARY

The Democrat budget reported Wednesday
proposes the largest tax increase in U.S.
history – $392.5 billion over 5 years –
mainly to finance immense new spending
through 2012. Although they try to insist
otherwise, the figures in their budget assume
these tax increases will occur automatically –
and without them they cannot achieve a
balanced budget, as they claim.

Increase in Marginal Rates . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $182 billion
Reduction of Child Tax Credit . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $27 billion
Increase in Marriage Penalty . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $13 billion
Increase in Death Tax . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $91 billion
Increase in Capital Gains and Dividends Tax Rates . . . . . . . . $32.5 billion
Other Tax Increases . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $47 billion

------------------

Remember when Hillary said that she was going to "take those profits"?? They want to take YOUR profits as well. Socialism in the form of income redistribution is sickening.

Is this really the "change" that millions of Americans voted for

Well, that is one way to balance the budget, I guess.

Anyone else get the feeling that the Dems have been working on this list since they lost congress in what, 94?

Wow, I thought they wanted to encourage marriage not discourage it. Is it any wonder that the average age before marriage has steadily increased. No wonder people are hesitant to get married, you have a better tax bracket if you stay single.

What a way to stimulate the economy...
Punish you for being successful by increasing the taxes on your lowly 4% CDs and meager investments.

I'm not surprised... recent history has shown that if nothing else Democrats reliably try to raise taxes whenever possible.

This supports my 'all democrats are closet socialists' theory.

Ode to Liberalism....author unknown.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me
to my doom..."

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Eh....no big deal. I'll just a page from the illegals' playbook and work for cash under the table, use the local ER for medical care (and walk on the bill), and if things heat up in the 'hood, I'll just move on.

Nope. I'm a traditionalist, I'd rather we reduce spending, move inefficient federal programs to a more efficient state/county/city/local level, and return the primary tax burden for the country to national corporations where it belongs.

Why should the primary tax burden belong to "national corporations"?

I disagree. I don't think it was ever intended to "belong" to them.
