and return the primary tax burden for the country to national corporations where it belongs.

What possible good could come from excessive taxation upon American businesses?

I would happily regurgitate some Democratic propaganda to refute your propaganda, but I do not feel like playing party puppet today. They are both liars. We are already in a Presidential election 2 YEARS before the election. I believe nothing that comes from either party.

Taxes on businesses are a way for the government to take the money it wants from the public without them even knowing it. They then convince everyone that the greedy business owners are using their windfall profits to exploit them, and proceed to raise taxes on businesses even higher. Then they spend this money on socialist programs that appeal to some subset of their constituents. Most people think that they are getting a good deal... no new taxes appearing directly on their paychecks, screwing the rich, and getting some free services from Uncle Sam. It's a real good way to get reelected.

I didn't post any propaganda.

You are right about one thing; both parties have it wrong when it comes to taxes and spending. The problem with republicans is that they fail to cut spending when they cut taxes. The problem with democrats is that they believe that raising taxes year after year is ok, as long as they can tax the hell out of everyone. Then they go around proclaiming out they have "balanced the budget". Yeah....it might be balanced but the growth of goverment and the taxation that it took to get there is disgusting.

This thread is an example of the democrats raising taxes, which is something I happen to disagree with.

We need to cut spending and cut taxes. The republicans have been terrible the last several years in regard to cutting spending. They have grown the size of the federal government, which is the wrong thing to do. The democrats want to make it even worse AND take your money to do it.

No propaganda here. Just facts and opinions.

+1

It's called buying votes. The average person which vote for whichever party promises the most gifts from the public treasury. This has been noted as early as the last 1700's by Alexander Tyler.

The dems have use similar tactics to buy votes, in the form of raising the minimum wage, trying to get free government-run health care, handouts...etc...

The democrats tend to promise the largest gifts from the public treasury and that is why they are worse than the republicans.

Do you think the Republicans spending us into oblivion was the better way? Do you think, as Dick Cheney said, that the deficit doesn't matter?
Yeah, raising taxes sucks, but it sure beats the alternative.

You really should read the entire thread before you make comments like that.

As I have already said, republicans have spent too much. We should cut spending and taxes. If I had to chose between the two, I would much rather have the government run a defict by borrowing and paying back.

It would be hard to argue that government will grow at a faster pace (in the long run) while it is running a deficit rather than when it is growing and constantly being fed by tax increases.

The best thing to do is cut spending and taxes at the same time. Running a deficit in the short term is ok and actually can stimulate the economy. But running it for too long is not a good idea.
