Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but are you actually advocating for the forced closure of conservative media?

Only if they're inaccurate. If they're reporting the truth...whats the problem?

I have always questioned Newsmax and WorldNetDaily's articles and motivations. Most of the time, they're as idealogically entrenched as DailyKos or Democracy Now.

Its not the side of the aisle I despise...its the disinformation and the leaving out of facts that annoys me most. Both sides have outlets that do this - its part of being an idealogue.

I don't even consider Fox news to be that conservative anymore. I think everyone thinks they are b/c all the other media outlets are so overtly and outrageously liberal.

Yes, you are misunderstanding or I failed to communicate clearly. What I tried to state is that Edwards is motivated by an effort to close conservative media outlets (IMO). I forget the details of the proposed idea for a "fairness" act which appeared to be a means to reduce and attack conservative media. I think that Edwards is participating in this same type of effort.

And I certainly don't advocate forced closure of conservative or liberal media outlets. If they fail to get the ratings, they should simply run out sponsors and go away - i.e., no government involvement.

That's why I restrained the impulse to jump all over you before I had confirmation. Your previous statement didn't sound like the JD I've read in the past.

And for the Fairness Doctrine, I believe Kucinich is the one really pushing it now, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Edwards is on the same bandwagon.
