Libby juror #9 on Huffington Post

Here he is, recalling the trial like a teenage girl recalls her first date:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/thenewswire/docs/libby/

From his own admission, he wonders why he was on the jury considering his connections to other reporters. Sounds like a fair trial, huh?

- Robert Grenier of the CIA testified he told Libby about Plame.

- CIA communications director Bill Harlow testified that he told Libby's secretary about Plame and how she had a role in sending him to Niger.

- Judith Miller said she found notebooks of her meeting with Libby after she was released from jail. I guess those notebooks hid themselves when the threat of jailtime loomed over her.

- Libby testified reporters brought up the fact that Plame sent Wilson to Niger.

- Bob Woodward, juror #9's former boss testified that Richard Armitage told him about Plame, and Libby didn't say a word about it.

Why was Libby convicted? With this many players passing information around, you'd need a flowchart to remember it all. Grenier, Harlow and Armitage need to be questioned about their involvement in this matter.

I think he probably was the fall guy for (insert name here) that was above him. I haven't followed it as closely as I should have but he certainly isn't the only one involved. Could we see a W pardon in the future?

From the facts presented in the case and Richard Armitage admitting that he leaked the her name, this guy needs to be on trial. He waited to admit this for two years after this case was started. I have to think he was in cooperation with Plame and Wilson, which is why he waited. He's one of the career bureaucrats that Bush should have flushed out when he was elected. There are some shady elements entrenched in the government who have done nothing but try to torpedo everyone in the Bush administration.

I can see a pardon coming, but not until Jan 19th, 2009.

You gotta love the reaction of the media when it was revealed that Armitage was the leak....they all but ignored it. It was kind of like "oh yeah....by the way it was discovered today that Richard Armitage was actually the leak in the Plame case, not Cheney or Libby....and now on to more headlines....."

Not even Fox News covered it that much, from what I can remember.

The reason that the mainstream media didn't go nuts about Armitage, is because him being the leak did not fit what they were hoping for, which was a Cheney/Libby/Rove/Bush admin scandal. You can be rest assured that if Armitage was a republican operative, it would have been talked about for WEEKS and probably would have been on the cover of newsweek and the old york times.

In reality, if this case was as big as the mainstream media made it out to be, certainly they should have MORE than adequately covered the story about Armitage being the leak when it broke.....nope, sorry folks...that doesn't fit the liberal agenda.

Why? It's pretty clear that no crime was comitted since she wasn't a covert CIA operative. To quote the WSJ Op Eds, this is just a "kerfuffle".

Nobody knows for sure that she was or wasn't covert, except for the CIA. Not even Fitzgerald or the judge know. It doesn't help that she listed her front company in her donation to Gore in 1999 or that Wilson listed both of them in the "Who's Who of America", but it still leaves questions that need to be answered.

How about Armitage needs to be questioned further about his involvement?

LIBBY JUROR: PARDON HIM
Wed Mar 07 2007 19:21:48 ET

MSNBC host Chris Matthews spoke with Libby juror Ann Redington on HARDBALL. Juror [#10] says she would support a Bush pardon for Libby.

Transcript:

Chris: You're for a pardon out of sympathy for the defendant.

Ann: Yeah, I think in the big picture, um, it kind of bothers me that there was this whole big crime being investigated and he got caught up in the investigation as opposed to in the actual crime that was supposedly committed.

Chris: Which is the leaking of a CIA agents name.

Ann: Exactly.

End

Developing...

So, a juror who voted to convict him is now advocating a pardon?

I agree with the underlined part.

I'm surprised that a juror who voted to convict would now come out supporting a pardon only a couple of days after the verdict.
