I've been to New Orleans a few times now on business (before Katrina) and a friend summarized it best..."you just expect the ground to open up and swallow this town into the gates of hell". Pretty accurate assessment from what I saw.

And again, luvmysig, none of my ranting was directed at you and after reading my post to you, I realize that I should have put a comma in the first sentence before "my friend". The way I have it written seems I am saying you aren't a friend. We don't know eachother, but I don't want to come off like a jacka$$.
I didn't take it the wrong way. All is good in XDLand.

That is ok. I disobey their laws when I am there. No big deal.
Reminds me of the city of Seattle a few years back. The police would auction off firearms they had procured over time (it was a state law that they had to auction them off).

Somebody ( I think it was the Chief of police) decided "I dont want these guns going back to the criminals, so I'll just ignore the law that says I have to auction them off" They went on record saying "It's a law I don't believe in, so I'm not going to follow it" alwasy nice when the police come out and admit they don't follow the very laws they are to uphold.
