Non-denominational judeo-christian chiming ing here. I don't consider myself to be "Very" religious, though many of my friends and acquaintances do. Helps that a local minister lives across the street from me, and we have them over for dinner twice a month. (They frequently host dinners for "stranded" college students, I feel it is only right for someone to do unto them as they do unto others.)

I may not see eye to eye with frank on a lot of things, but this sentiment, which I strongly share, is one reason I'd have a steak and (root)beer with him next time I'm out in Maine. . . :P

IMO virtually everything "controversial" is better descided locally.

Just for info purposes I e-mailed the Romney campaignand asked about his stance on gun controla and this is what I recieved:

Mr. Atkinson,

Thanks so much for your interest in learning more about Governor Romney. Below is the Governor’s position on gun control.

Americans should have the right to own and possess firearms as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. Governor Romney is proud to be among the many decent, law-abiding men and women who safely use firearms.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to e-mail us at info@mittromney.com or policy@mittromney.com.

And make sure to visit www.MittRomney.com regularly for breaking news, interesting blog posts, photo albums from the campaign trail, and videos of Governor Romney on Mitt TV.

What is Mitt’s stance on gun control and the ability of law abiding citizens to carry a firearm for protection?

Thanks,

Wayne Atkinson

Romney is pro-Brady and pro-AWB. That aside...He is still the best choice of the three top RINO's in the running.
However...I'll stick with Paul if he indeed runs.

Agreed and thanks!

Agree or disagree, these issues should be decided locally so that politicians from the big city can't decide what's best for rural American and vice-versa.

I LOVE STEAK AND ROOT BEER!!!

What state do you live in?

As a semi-LDS person, I must say that I'm less than enthralled with Romney. I think the fact that he's a Mormon will definitely hurt him if he runs, and on top of that, he's just so friggin' wishy-washy. There's no such thing as a truly conservative governor in a state like MA.
I've got enough beef with the religion and so many of those in it that I don't think I'd ever vote for a Mormon though. Like someone said in an earlier post, there are some good, bad, and terrible Mormons in the religion.
