Stop The Republican=good, Democrat=bad Mentality!

[rant]

NO, I'm not a democrat, and NO I’m not a republican.

My favorite politician is a republican, but I don’t consider my self a republican.
Both parties are by large corrupt and messed up beyond belief in their own way with their own candidates.

Yes, plenty of democrats pillage and rape the bill of rights, including the second amendment.
Yes plenty of democrats are socialist commie slaves who would have been lined up and shot for treason a hundred years ago.

….but guess what

SO ARE ****LOADS OF THE REPUBLICANS!

I'm not even going to bother listing a ton of examples, but I’m sure any of you who are remotely informed know of plenty of republicans who are gun grabbers and completely pro illegal immigration etc (Maybe you wont find it listed on their website as stuff they support, but when you look at their record..), and that there are a decent amount of democrats that are the opposite.

HOW in god’s holy name can people generalize to the extent of saying democrats are bad, or republicans are good, or the opposite, for that matter? It is completely insane.

As for the whole "Lesser of two evils" theory, come on. Even if there was some truth to it, it’s complete BS.
Just because it hurts a lot to get your leg cut off, doesn’t mean that getting all your toe nails pulled out doesn’t hurt either. Stop compromising. The bill of rights is not negotiable.

[/rant]

PS: if you have to blindly generalize and support a party, for gods sake, let it be the Libertarians.

I can't take the credit, but someone once told me the largest difference between the left and the right is...

Generally speaking of course,

The Left think the Right is BAD.
The Right think the Left is WRONG.

Put another way, the left questions the right and asserts that it has bad intentions whereas the right understands that the left normally has good intentions but just goes about things the wrong way.

<soapbox>

This 2 party system was foisted on us by a conspiracy to make sure our representatives continue to be reelected - depriving us of our people that represent us by giving us only the option to choose the one who is the "lesser evil."

Wake up America!

Re-Elect NO ONE!

<off soapbox>

as you were.

Politician= BAD....
Democrats=really bad

Repiblicans have not been much better in the past few years..
Too bad we are stuck with one or the other always winning...
We will eventually get a major party reform....or at least they will market it that way....
Hope it is for real.

In my view, lately it has been:

Republicans=poor/disappointing

Democrats=FAR worse

Good thread, though.

This mentality was fed to the American voters in the time leading up to the 2000 election.

It's a realtively new sentiment in American politics but for the younger members of this board it seems it's all they have been exposed to and some of the more "seasoned" members seem to have swallowed it - hook, line and sinker.

There was always a Republican vs. Democrat mentality but never was it pushed to the point in order to divide the nation into separate camps as the "compassionate conservatives, family values party" did prior to the 2000 election.

Before the 21st century, Republicans and Democrats for the most part worked together for the good of our country and party loyalties were a lot less influential.

It's all about divisivness and trying to get one side to feel morally superior to the other. Sadly enough the side that wanted to claim moral superiority turned out to be the most corrupt in history.

When this neoconsevative movement is finally flushed from the Republican party's bowels we will return to a system working for the good of our country as the #1 priority.

I just hope it's not too late.

It would be hard to argue that you have not been promoting a
"Democrat = Good, Republican = Bad" mentality during your career here at XDTalk.
