Sounds pretty plausible that he died in the line of work.

Mossad? Where?

Israel is bogged down in political infighting and is a mere shadow of its glory days.

Israel got whipped by Hezbollah last year and ended up cutting and running by submitting to a UN resolution.

Whatever happened to that Israeli soldier that was captured at the beginning of the war? Where is Moussad? Do they still exist?

Are they a "shadow of their glory days"? Beats me. Thought they were supposed to be pretty secretive. Do you know something the rest of us don't?

Hypothetical: Tens of millions of people hate you Tom, personally, and have as part of their laws the intent to kill you.

You get to pick, say, a half dozen guys to think up ways to keep you alive. Do you choose from top guys from among the US Secret Service? The US Central Intelligence Agency? UN Peace Keepers? The Cuban Air Force? The Mossad?

Me, I go for the team that's officially four and "oh" ...unofficially even better. Iraq in one night's sortie? Or "Gulf War II"?

As for "news" reports out of Tehran; remember "Baghdad Bob"?

Peace,
D.

- Sarge (Invssgt). (Interesting and relevant tidbit related to Sarge's contention) - http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080814/military_donations.html

No opinion meant to be implied here......just an observation that seems apropos to the whole thing.

It seems that the days of the 6 day war, where multiple arab countries could not defeat Israel, are gone.

Olmert is a disgrace. I'm surprised he even allowed Mossad to kill that scientist--if it is even true.

Well, at least they did something, its a shame we have not been able to do more without restraints on our operatives.

If Israel did do it kudos.... it would prove at least they can run an operation and not screw it up like the Russians.
