The bit about the spitting is on page 2.
I read the article earlier, the info I got was from an interview with him this afternoon.

I gotcha. I just posted the link for folks who hadn't seen it yet in its entirety. That really sucks.

this is the same attitude the war protester has.........do you see how its a dead end street?
The difference is that what the protester did just shows an utter lack of respect for someone who sacrificed so much to allow him the right to protest. Even if you don't believe that we are justly in this war, they should at least respect the military organization that has secured their rights through past conflicts.

I see the point your making, but I'll have to disagree.

HOW DARE these leftist protesters spit at a veteran. WTF is wrong with these people? This man served his country bravely and lost one of his legs doing so. How cowardly do you have to be to spit at a man on crutches with only 1 leg?

This angers me to no end....

Even if you disagree with the war, you have to remember that the soldiers don't set the policy. They do what they are ordered to do. How can people blame them for the war?

How pathetic these war protesters have become. I thought I had seen it all when I saw people chaining themselves down in the middle of the streets and running around with fake blood all over themselves.

Frank
I think the Iraqi war was ill advised and don't agree with a lot of what we've done, but I agree with you, Frank, wholeheartedly on this one! I find it insulting that they even consider that.

ill agree that spitting on someone is screwed up no matter who they are or what they do.

As to past conflicts securing rights......well thats another subject better left out of this thread.

Here is a link to the video that TxPete was talking about.

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/launchPage.html?012907/012907_hc_griff&Anti-War%20Protest&Hannity_Colmes&Demonstrators%20in%20 Wash.%20spit%20on%20soldier%3B%20attack%20FOX%20Ne ws%20satellite%20truck&Politics&-1&Anti-War%20Protest&Video%20Launch%20Page&News

I LOVE the part where the protester wearing pink was asked if she wanted the US to win the war. She said something like "WIN??? There is no WIN?!?! WE CAN'T WIN!"

That's one of the main problems with the far-leftists in this country.

The protesters threw cigarette butts at the disabled veteran and more than one person spit on him. He even got a hate letter at Walter Reed hospital that wished for his death.

The insane leftist protesters also attacked a Fox News satellite truck!

These people are OUT OF THEIR MINDS!

I thought that war protesters were supposed to be peaceful.

Frank

I like the scene where it shows the fox news van had been vandalized. I'm glad they put that in there, put things into perspective.

People in the US have the right to protest.
People in the US have the right to say what they wish.
People in the US have the right to believe what they wish to believe.

Those protesters may be juvenile, small minded, mean spirited, deluded idiots.

But that is their right.

People in the US have those rights because men like myself and my brothers in arms have protected those rights since before the US became a free nation.

And despite their hatred of us, we will continue to protect their rights. That is our duty, obligation and privilege.

Unfortunately, their only action isn't speech (and it never has been). During the Vietnam War they set fire to recruiting stations, ROTC buildings, government offices. They cursed and spat at veterans returning home from the war. ELF and ALF routinely set fire to research facilities and destroy private property. This current batch of protestors has defaced public property, physically threatened others and will eventually succumb to their own insanity. Then it will be time to put them down.

Remember Kent State!

Is this supposed to mean that you think what happened at Kent State was not a tragedy, but something justified, something right, something good?

If so, that is about as scary as it gets. (Unless you have no idea about what happened and why).

I hope I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

Peace,
D.
