Someone for Prez to look at.....

I happen to be watching "Imus" this morning, and he had ex-Gov Mike Huckabee (R-Arkansas) on. Anyway, I've seen him on several times before, and liked his thinking. Well, today he said he was going to explore a committe into a 2008 Prez race. Thinking I would like to know more of his thinking on issues, I found his blog. If you bring it up, and down on the right hand side, are the issues, you will notice his is pro2a and also Castle Doctrine, along with other issues that are in more line with my thinking. Surely better than McCain, Julliani, Romney (all anti-2a's) in my book. Only issue I have to not care for is the issue of Immigration (illegal). Otherwise, I pretty much agree into his stance. Take a look. I hope he jumps in and that us follk respond to his ideas.

I've heard of him before. Thanks for posting that; I had forgotten about Huckabee.

There is no way this country will ever elect a former Governor from Arkansas as President. Hell No! Wait...

So far the list of Democratic candidates doesn't entice me. Lieberman would be a great choice if he were to run...But he isn't liked by his own party anymore.

Mit Romney looks like a good candidate for the republicans.

Only if he could 'feel your pain'.

Yeah, the dems banished Leiberman because of his stance on the war. Despite the fact that I disagree with Leiberman about 90% of the time, I respect him enourmously and I do like him. Obviously, he does what he thinks is right, no matter how much pressure is put on him. The dems (and some of his close friends like Chris Dodd) said they wouldn't support him and he still did what he thought was right. He ran as an independent anyway and he did not change his stance on the war. It would have been easy for him politically to just drop things and conform with the democrats about the war. However, that would be going against what he believes, so he refused to do it. +1000 to him for sticking to his guns and not wavering despite HUGE pressure to do so. It is a shame that the DNC stopped supporting him and that his friends withdrew support. I guess if you are are a dem and you do what you think is right, regardless of political pressure and special interests, you are kicked out.

Also, +1000 to him for winning the election anyways (after losing the primary), even WITHOUT the financial and vocal support of the DNC, the dems in general, and some of his friends.

It is rare to find politicians who think independently and do what they believe is the right thing to do, no matter what.

On the surface, he appears to be very direct & no nonsense - which I respect & admire. BUT, the more layers you peel away, the more you find an odor.

For example, his pardon of Wayne Dumond - a convicted rapist (raped a HS girl). Once released, he raped & murdered a woman. Nice call there, Mr. Huckabee.

Also, the allegations of financial "issues" is alarming to me. It screams of another crooked politician.

He won't get my vote. I'm not sure who will yet.

By the way, here's the link that was behind my remarks shown above.
