If you were president how would you fix Iraq

All of the talk on Iraq strategy and Iraq study groups got me to wondering. What would your strategy be if you were president? How would you go about fixing Iraq? Let's hear it....and none of the political party line crap.

God has given me no right to control the counry or actions of others as long as they dont pick my pocket or break my leg. I would Honer Liberty and freedom in the only way one really can, I would allow others to practice liberty and freedom how they see fit. I would work on fixing the problems here at home.

I really don't like playing Armchair General and besides, since I'm not privy to all of the intel that the decision makers are, anything I said would be nothing more than rhetoric.

The idea of an Iraq Studies Group is not a bad one, but the one we have--made up of politicians, bipartisan or not--seems committed to losing and leaving the AO. Why not an Iraq Studies Group made up of our best and brightest military commanders who are committed to winning?

I would prefer to do this on the afternoon of 9/11/01. I would destroy anywhere that Hizbollah, The Bath party, and Al Qaeda are in control of, or they enjoy overwhelming support. I would do my best to get the USA out of any Nuclear disarmament treaties, and ramp up both Strategic Offensive and Defensive capabilities. I would treat the new USSR the way we treated the old one, by aggresively arming and supporting those leaving in the shadow of Comunists, and Soviets. The Cold war didn't end, a truce was declared, and the Russians are acting like the truce is over, but we haven't even noticed it.

The only good commie/socialist is a dead one. It worked from 1948 to 1991, it works now.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

What was that for? Expressing my point of view? Sorry if it sounded like I was harping on you. I wasn't.

No just wanted to hear what you would do with what you know now. I know you weren't harping.

Would you add more troops like McCain wants to do? Or would you pull out?

I agree. But specifically, what would you do now to fix the situation we are in? There are over 140,000 of our men and women there. Bring them back? Send more? How would you fix things as they are?
