I feel better now, emailed some people.

So I took some time and emailed McCain, Clinton, Giuliani, and Bloomberg tonight. Let them know that there is no way I will cast a vote for them based on their gun control views. And I wished them an embarassing defeat by a 3rd party candidate if they aren't running against anyone who truly supports the 2nd amendment. Let them know that there are other gun owners who share my views, and won't vote for them. Now I know Clinton could care less, but the others being republicans know that a big chunk of their base are gun owners. Maybe they will get the hint and just keep out of the race, and leave it open for someone who truly supports our 2nd amendment rights and isn't looking to pass more gun control measures on us.

I don't care if they give a crap what I have to say or not. But I do know that being silent is not the way to be. More people need to write them and share their opinions. The more that write, the more they will get the hint. There's no sense in waiting til '08 to voice our concerns and tell them to stay out of the race. Start early!

Good for you man! We should all do the same thing to those candidates who favor gun control.

Question: I know for a fact that Bloomberg, Guiliani, and Clinton (of course) favor various forms of gun control. However, I haven't heard the same about McCain. Now I could google this and probably find the answer, but I thought I would ask it here instead. Is he really in favor of gun control?

Right now, McCain would be the only one who has a chance to earn my support, due to his positions on spending, taxes, and terrorism.

Thanks,

Frank

Thanks for the reminder! It's never too early. I dropped an email to McCain and sent a note to Giuliani via his web site. I can't bring myself to converse with hillary and won't lower myself to talk to bloomburg, and it wouldn't make a difference anyway. Anyone interested can email McCain here.

Where did all the conservatives go? Is there someone waiting in the wings, or do I end up wasting a presidential vote on a Constitutionalist or Libertarian? Lord, help us...

And let's not forget McCain/Fiengold and the gutting of our 1st Amendement rights....

This guy is a loose cannon - he started out as an upstanding conservative and has drifted to somewhere on the left of Kerry. Maybe we'll be lucky and he'll show his true colors by flipping parties, now that the Dems are back in control. I wouldn't vote for him anymore than I'd vote for HillBill or Edwards, not to mention Barac O.

I'm sick of seeing him on the ballot here in AZ after he's sold us out so many times, but most of the time his opponents in the primary wouldn't have a snowball's chance in Phoenix at beating a good dem candidate, so I vote for him. (insert puking smilie here) It's too bad we can't just give Kyl two votes.
