Have you ever read the bible?

Simple question.

So have ever read the bible? Either all or in parts. Why or why wouldn't you read the bible?

I myself have read the New Testament at least twice (not to boast, I'm just stating the facts) and now I'm deadlocked in Jeremiah.

My goal is to read through the bible cover to cover (meaning all passages, not necessarily Old Testament to New Testament).

So tell me what you think?

Yes, it was forced down my throat with a neo-con message attached to it. Unfortunately, some of us are able to think for ourselves, but I cant say that about 99% of my classmates.

I enjoy reading the Bible now for leisure and insight, and its much better now that its not combined with a political message forced on me.

Yes as a youth Pastor I have read the bible. I would say cover to cover about 25 times and some pasages in the 300s.

I love it I actually just finished reading in proverbs a moment ago.

Yes, I have read the Bible cover to cover at least once or twice and many more selected passages for my own study. I believe it to be the sole source of truth for the Christian life.

Read the old testament in High School. Have read most of the New, with many re-reads of the gospels.

I agree, it is much better when read by yourself, for yourself, and not have to deal with someone elses interpretation. I love a version I bought recomended by a Mil. Intel. Linguist & Baptist Preacher wannabee (I'm sure he is a preacher by now) as the one with the best linguistical techniques for conveying the original message. Regretfully the authors couldn't help putting their $.02 on the margins, but thankfully left the Biblical text intact.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

I've studied various passages for practically my entire life, but I'm now in the midst of finally reading it cover-to-cover; some of the Old Testament books do tend to bog you down a bit.

It would appear some things are universal, no matter what the faith, eh Nikon?
