When will North Korea's government implode?

Maybe its the stupidity of the news agency reporting the story or the lame excuse by North Korea to continue down the path of opression, economic sanctions and fear. With technology today let alone 20 years ago. North Korea should know the terms ICBM, SLBM, Cruise Missiles and bombers can all carry nukes to North Korea and about anywhere else in the world, with out being on the same "peninsula". I might add we can deliver a nuke to you with little warning and in a timely manner. At some point in time (near future) North Korea will collapse the people are starving.

N.Korea says U.S. has nuclear bomb in South: Tass
17 minutes ago

North Korea believes Washington has atomic weapons deployed in South Korea and it will not halt its nuclear program as long as this threat persists, Itar-Tass news agency quoted a North Korean source as saying on Thursday.
"(North Korea) has practically no doubts that there are U.S. nuclear weapons in the south of the Korean Peninsula," the source told Tass. "North Korea is forced, in the interests of self-defense, to enhance its nuclear capability."
"Without eliminating the threat from the United States and without relevant guarantees being offered, Pyongyang will not agree to give up its right to possess a defensive nuclear shield whatever the pressure from outside."
Asked about the report, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack strongly rejected it, adding these were old claims.
"The United States has affirmed it has no nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula and it has no intention to attack or invade the DPRK with nuclear or conventional weapons," McCormack told reporters in Washington.
North Korea drew international condemnation when it conducted a nuclear test on October 9. It has since agreed to return to six-party disarmament talks it had boycotted for a year.
Despite a flurry of diplomacy, no date has been set for the talks, which involve the two Koreas, the United States, China, Japan and Russia.
The source did not link Pyongyang's allegations about a U.S. nuclear weapon directly to the failure to restart the talks. But the source underlined North Korea's conditions for their resumption.
"The North Korean side is ready in principle for such talks, but because of U.S. position the new round is being postponed," he said.
"Until the atmosphere of pressure eases and until all our financial operations blocked by Washington are released, we will not join the six-way talks," the source added.
Russian news agencies are among the few media outlets which have regular access to official circles in reclusive North Korea.

So much for Chinese "pressure" on the DRNK to curtail their nuclear development program.....

As for the government of the DRNK imploding anytime soon - not sure I'd hold my breath until that point. The present government has the strong backing of the military and, since they hold all the cards, there won't be a change anytime soon - unless one of the generals decides he can run the country without the middleman.

Since the entire regime is founded on the "cult of personality", the likelihood of change is based on how the ruling class sees the “Leader” - the people play little, if any, part in the process. So far, he’s been able to insolate the ruling class from any hardship, while shifting the burden of sacrifice downward to the common men and women who make up the general population.

When the Chinese stop supplying the country with food and supplies. The whole country will starve to death.

How long ago did we "cut off" cuba? I think they will keep going until everyone is starving in the streets, and frankly, they can grow enough domestic product so that it may take 50 years for that.

That little fat bastard has been in power since 1994. He has starved & mistreated his people for a long time. He keeps priority 1 on taking care of his military and keeping tight control of the people. I don't see him getting ousted anytime soon.

Cuba trades with most other countries except for the United States. North Korea is a different story. They get the majority of their food and goods from China. They don't produce nearly enough goods or food products to sustain themselves.
