got love the nice people in san fran

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ After a one-day run, transportation officials in San Francisco have decided an idea that marked the U-S debut of scented outdoor advertising stinks.
City officials have ordered an end to a marketing campaign that outfitted San Francisco bus shelters with cookie-scented strips. The strips were ordered removed yesterday, just a day after being put up as part of the California Milk Processor Board's ``Got Milk?'' campaign.
The Municipal Transportation Agency initially had no objection to the promotion, but canceled the plan after some residents complained. Some expressed concern over potential allergic reactions to the scents. Others complained the ads could be offensive to the poor and homeless who can't afford to buy cookies.

so, what about the ads for mercedes or something, some people cant afford those so lets pull their ads!!

Isn't that amazing! Those utopian socialists are so politically correct they can't even handle partisipating in capitialist advertising. These are the same homeless people who's right of self protection has been taken away by the city regarding carrying knives for protection. (Don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy walking through panhandling homeless drunks, but even they have a right to self defense!)

Gee, I always saw it more along the lines that I have a right to self-defense against panhandling homeless drunks.

Hahahahaha! That's just funny in my book. Too bad one of the most beautiful states has to be filled with liberals and cookiless(sp?) homeless people. Wow. That's just funny.

It's gotta be fair, or it's just wrong. They won't be satisfied until it's a complete communist state where nobody is rich, nobody is poor.

AWESOME!! Our tax dollars hard at work! Why do you think Michael Savage refers to San Francisco as "San Fran-sicko" and "San Fran-freako"?

Ironicly, the city that I associate with bad manners and road rage bans cookie ads to show sensitvity to the homeless. Ummm...why don't they just give cookies to the homeless?? That's showing sensitvity.

I agree Cali raise your taxes to feed cookies to the homeless... Good use of tax money!

You misunderstand. The politicians and their friends will be rich. The rest will be "average."
