Cheney's Gay Daughter Pregnant

I wonder what Tommy will say about this....

Cheney's Gay Daughter Said Pregnant

The Associated Press
Wednesday, December 6, 2006; 8:13 AM

WASHINGTON -- Mary Cheney, the openly gay daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney and wife Lynne, is pregnant, according to a published report.
Mary Cheney, 37, and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, 45, are "ecstatic" about the baby, due in late spring, The Washington Post reported in Wednesday's editions, quoting an unnamed source close to the couple.
The vice president's other, older daughter, Elizabeth Cheney, is on leave as deputy assistant secretary of state after having her fifth child with her husband in July.

There was no formal announcement of either daughter's pregnancy from the vice president's office, but the Post quoted spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride as saying Tuesday night that "the vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild."

Mary Cheney, 37, was an aide to her father during the 2004 campaign, as was Elizabeth, and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL.
The Post quoted the source close to the family as saying the circumstances of Mary Cheney's pregnancy will remain private. She and Poe moved from Colorado to Virginia a year ago to be closer to the Cheney family.

In an interview with the Post six months ago, when asked if she and Poe wanted children, Cheney said that was a "conversation I think I should have with Heather first."

So what?

Congratulations ot her and her family.

This is where me and the far right part ways...I don't have a problem with gay couples adopting or having children. Haven't we all seen enough hetero couples do unspeakable things to children?

If a gay couple are going to provide a safe, loving and nurturing home for an otherwise orphaned child or have one of their own and provide for it...great.

My opinion on this came from an unlikely source - Rosie O'Donnel. I saw her interviewed once with her partner and their kids and the way they interacted with these kids and gave them a good home made me think that a gay couple having children is not a bad thing. She also had several other gay couples on her program that had children and they all looked happy and well adjusted. Most said they wished their kids did NOT turn out gay, as well.

I'd rather see otherwise orphaned children in a safe home where they are loved...even if its with two men or two women, than in a seedy foster home or some orphanage.

anti-gay?

I think cheney has handled his daughters choices with honor in any interview I've seen about it. Congrats to them.

I disagree. A convicted child molester could also provide a "loving and nurturing home". I think the major issue here is that we have allowed homosexual and lesbian adoptive couples to experiment with the lives of children.

I think it is a civil and moral right of every child to have a married man and woman as parents. The gay agenda to break down the traditional family unit in this country is necessary for them to reach their goal. They often use the ‘end justifies the means’ rationalization as even you have related here - Rosie's kids looked ok so, therefore, gay parents are ok.

I'm glad I was not aborted when I was an embryo and glad I was not used as a social experiment to support a political agenda.

Why are we allowing the most innocent and defensless among us to be played with as if their lives mean nothing?

If my ideas are "far right", then I am more than happy to be labeled 'far right'. Justifiably ironic, isn't it, that the word "right" is used when referring to me...

It Cannot be Blamed on Me!!

Evidently she is not a lesbian or at least
100% one. Her pregnancy attests to that.

There had to be a male around somewhere
in her life! I just wish it had been me as my
lifetime ambition has been to have sex with
a lesbian (or two)!
