Do you come with subtitles, bd? The point is that you're sitting there thinking (okay, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt) that ...yes, corruption is finally out with those nasty republicans no longer in the majority. Anyone with an ounce of sense and a limited amount of intelligence would know that both parties are filled with corruption. But you keep those blinders on and enjoy the view.

I am going to list off 6 topics and I BET you can tell me what the Democrat stance is on each one... Here we go:

Abortion: (Pro Choice or Pro Life)
Stem Cell Research: (Fund Research or Don't Fund Research)
Nation Debt: (Pay it down or Let it contine to Rise)
War vs. Dimplomancy: (Drop a bomb or Write a letter)
Taxes: (Tax the RICH or Tax the Poor)
Assult Rifles: (Pro-Assault Rifles or Anti-Assault Rifles)
Well, some folks (like you, apparently) just have a black-and-white view of the world...while for others (like me, a card-carryin' Dem) life is a little more nuanced. So here's my take on your Top Six:

1. Abortion: I am pro-choice and pro-life (do you actually know anyone -- outside of a prison cell, maybe -- who is anti-life?). Which is to say, I abhor abortion and profoundly wish it wasn't necessary...but when it is, it should be safe and available.

2. Stem cell research: Meh. My personal opinion is that all the stem-cell excitement is much ado about nothing...I expect that, even if well-funded, we won't see any real medical benefits from it for the next 25 years at a minimum. Just like 'gene therapy'...remember gene therapy? Whatever happened to it, anyway? Answer: over-excited scientists hyped a clever but largely unworkable idea. Should the research be funded? Of course it should, just not over-funded. Is there a moral problem presented by using 'waste' embryos (which are today flushed every day at in vitro fertilization clinics) as a source of stem cells? Of course there isn't...since when is flushing something down a toilet morally superior to using it for some potential good?

3. National debt: OK, I'll admit it; this one is pretty black-and-white, after all. Only a moron could seriously believe that debt is good, unless it's unavoidable.

4. War vs. Diplomacy: This ain't an either/or. War is diplomacy by other means. Modern states not led by barbarians of course try diplomacy first. If it doesn't work, they ask themselves if the issue is important enough to go to war for. If 'yes', try more diplomacy while rattling your sabre ever louder. If you ultimately have to cross the line, then you cross it...provided you have a sensible plan regarding how to win and how to get out. If you don't have such a plan, get out of the way and shut up before you screw somethin up totally.

5. Taxes: Heck, tax everybody. We all use government services, so we all have to pay up. Just make sure it's reasonably fair...which is to say, don't give rich folks and corporations huge breaks while crushing the poor and the middle class.

6. Assault rifles: Need some definition here. The guns that the AWB banned weren't assault rifles, they were 'scary-lookin rifles'. I'm not anti-scary-lookin rifles. I do think you should have to jump through some hoops to be able to purchase or possess a fully automatic weapon, just as you currently have to jump through some hoops to purchase or possess a silencer. I'm pretty confident that this won't bring the world as we know it to an end.

Why did you dodge the question?

You predicted an "october surprise" and you were wrong.

What does that have to do with congress changing hands
