+1 It's all about me (Americans). I think this continious flow of intelligent leaks is setting a very bad precedent for future adminstrations. We are playing "gotcha" and one of this days it is going to bite us big time.

I agree that every time we release such a report, it gives our enemies the idea that they are winning and it emboldens them. The folks in Washington don't give a damn about Iraq or what it does to the perception of America. What they care about it getting reelected, at which point they have 4/6 more years of a free ride, financed by the American tax payer.

This report is nothing more than a,"See, I told you I was right!" report. Give it a few weeks and a report will come out that contradicts this one. They are bogus at best.

OS

PS: Let us not forget that it was also the DEMS who agreed to go into Iraq. They will state that they did it under the guise of bad intel. I will say that that is their "out". Again, bogus.

I don't think this should be seen as "Republicans handing Democrats" anything. I hope our Intelligence groups are unaffected by party politics as far as the job they do and the findings they publish. If not, our country is in a whole lot more trouble than we could ever imagine.

The way intelligence was "interpreted" and presented as an argument by the elected officials in order to lead us into a questionable war was purely political.

These new findings, being supposedly "apolitical", are good news in the way of presenting the truth for those who are not satisfied with the political motives that are being used to wage this war on terror.

you mean the new classified documents that only a few people are talking about?

Since it is classified how will we know it is anything but political?

We are at a point where politics controls intelligence-period. If this was not the case, Bin Laden would be dead. If the CIA was able to conduct operations without having to get permission from the White House, the world would have fewer "bad guys".

In the end, we the people know very little of what is going on. If you saw Munich, you will get my meaning. We prop up some bad guys to either salt the wounds of our enemies or to protect us from badder (is this a word?) guys.

There's no doubt about that in my mind, too. Ya gotta figure, though, that the Iraqi's killed since the war started (estimated variously between 15,000 and 100,000 depending on who you believe) have a lot of kids who aren't too thrilled with the U.S - that's part of the "new generation of terrorists" they're talking about.
