Feds Round Up a Large Group of Illegals...

Just heard on the news that the feds have rounded up
over 120 illegals whom were working at a military installation
for a government contractor, you know, the low bidder
type.

Said that there were three busloads on their way to
where ever to ship their butts back to where they came
from.

My take: When a governement contract is let, it of
course goes to the lowest bidder. Also, the wages
which are paid has to be the going wage rate that is
set by local union wages. In other words, pretty darn
good pay per hour. I'd bet me bottom dollar though
that the contractor was paying a straw boss big bucks
and he in turn were paying the illegals out of his own
pocket via some hook and crook method of avoidance.
This is what I call SLAVE labor!! even if they are illegals.
Even if it is the tip of the iceburg, I feel that we should
go after the employers. Without strick control and
punishment of those employers who hire the illegals or
have knowledge that they are illegals, we will be pi*sing
in the wind forever.

Now lets see, 12,000,000 minus 120.......that equals =
a bunch who are still in this country who are undocumented!

Yip, gotta go after the one who hire the illegals, and do more then slap their wrist with a little fine. Base the fine on the finances of the one who did the hirering.

Man, I gotta' agree with this. We keep hearing that business has no way to check the status of the people they're hiring. BULLS**T! They have ways to check everything but your hatsize! If you hand over a phony SS card, they'll know within 5 minutes.

When I used to work at my parents company, (cleaning services) we would get their cards, both license and s.s., make copies, and that was it. Nothing was ever checked to see if it was legit. I think many many small companies still do it this way, even some larger ones obviously.

Ed Ely you have no idea how close to home you hit with that one. I had a manager from the contract company I work for come out and tell me he wants me to help him hire illegals for the company. Not that I don't already but the ones I deal with have a drivers license and a fake SSN. He wants me to help him hire the ones who don't. They want to use my security company as the fall guy if the INS comes to take their illegals away. These guys are a real bunch of country hicks trying to play games. I have been in contact with my company about this and some other nitwit crap they are trying to pull off. If my company does not back me on this I will have to give two weeks notice. Ain't nobody hauling my ass to court for hiring illegals for a bunch of country hick ass clowns.
