I gotta ask you guys, do you know what being pissed is? Let me tell you a little bit about being pissed. Pissed is having a drill instructor in your face (his nose less than 2 inches from your nose) and screaming and yelling at you. Telling you your one worthless POS and telling you to get down and do 100 pushups. Pissed is calling the drill instructor sargent instead of drill sargent and losing your weekend pass because you did. Pissed is having to scrap wax off the barracks floor all weekend because you called him sargent instead of drill Sargent (using a razor blade). Pissed is when you get yelled at because you didn't clean your rifle to your drill instructors specifications or have a thread hanging from your uniform. You guys who have never seen military service have no idea what pissed is. I could tell you more but I think your getting the general idea of what pissed is now.

That is what Drill Instructors are for.....To train you tough until you can do it right without falling out under the pressure of the task. If you can't handle a few insults among peers in a non-combative training area.....HOW WILL YOU BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF BULLETS AND BOMBS AND MORTARS, Oh My? !!!!!

As a former Marine I have to wonder.....What are they training you Army brats to do.....To Surrender ? Or to Survive?

I say get over your being "PISSED". There are a hell of a lot of soldiers in the hot zone at this very moment wishing that they could be home surfing the net and enjoying the same freedom that they are serving in order to protect.

While you're at it.....Clean your rifle and polish those boots trooper. You look un-sat.

I will never forget my drill instuctors name. It wasn't sargent Zills it was drill sargent Zills (never ever call them sir). Never had to use another razor blade except to shave my face.

Tried to get an ex marine hired on at the company I contract for today. Told him as an ex military man myself I would do my best to help him get hired. After he left I looked over his resume. Damn fool wanted to earn a decent wage (18.00 to 20.00 bucks an hour). The company I contract for pays about 8.00 an hour for the kind of work he was looking for. Oh well I tried.

As an aside on the other post - my reference to Kerry was not meant an anti-D slam. It was a general slam on politicians. His comments are burned in my brain so they're a bit more fresh. However, I don't distinguish from D & R with respect to that topic. It's unfortunate that the elections always seem to boil down to the lesser of 2 evils.
