Exclamation Your Urgent Action Is Required

Thanks to Shyquestor from Gunboards.com

Please, no comments, no political diatribes, nothing but "I took action" replies.

I realize this may not be correct for this Forum, but I do believe it is important and this Forum has the highest traffic. If anyone goes off topic, please, moderators, pull the entire thread. TIA

From the NRA...
YOUR URGENT ACTION IS REQUIRED ON BATFE REFORM BILL!!!

The House of Representatives will soon vote on a critically important NRA-supported bill!

H.R. 5092--the "Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) Modernization and Reform Act of 2006"--will improve BATFE's process for punishing the few FFLs who violate the law, and will establish guidelines for BATFE investigations. This bill was drafted in large part to address recent, blatant BATFE abuses at Richmond, VA-area gun shows highlighted in hearings before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. This legislation has passed out of committee and will be voted on in the full House during the week of September 18.

It is imperative that you contact your U.S. Representative at (202) 225-3121, and urge him or her to VOTE FOR H.R. 5092 when it is brought to the House floor! Additional contact information can be found using the "Write Your Representatives" feature at www.NRAILA.org.

Please be sure to contact your Representative, and urge your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners to do the same!

Since I know Tom is so open minded that he always likes to hear the other side of the arguement, here's the "bastard liberals" point of view on this:

I find it distinctly uncomfortable for any branch of federal government to be essentially free from oversight and capable of both writing and enforcing laws as it sees fit, and feel that allowing the BATFE to continue as it has would only result in further and greater transgressions by a government agency that is supposed to protect our freedoms, rather than create criminals out of law-abiding persons by their constant and illogical revisions of laws they currently are permitted to write and enforce without supervision, and who are also the only government branch empowered to hear grievances about their methods.

Another step forward towards a police state.....enforce what is already on the books and be held accountible thier actions and not hide behind the bedsheet of Big Brother.

I borrowed most of it from someone else-with permission, it was part of his email to his rep, I couldn't improve on it much more than the last sentence...
