I caught the end of the Brian Williams interview with the President, and decided to email NBC, just for ****s and giggles. Well, I think it actually got read last night...

In the email, I said "The President should remember that he works for us, the people who elected him" towards the end, kind of as a broad statement, to encompass both pro and against voters. Anyway, the very last email read, was almost word for word what I had said in the email. They didnt identify it though, so I guess Ill never know for sure.

I am writing in response to the Brian Williams interview that was broadcast tonight.

I realize that this may have been an “informal” interview with the President, in what may be one of the worst natural disasters of our time, but I found Brian Williams tone and posture to be both condescending and disrespectful to the President. Even though Mr. Williams may or may not agree with the President and his viewpoints, he is still the President, and should receive respect as such.

The part I did like about the interview was mainly about Iraq, as it has been in the news almost daily as of recently. Mr. Williams asked some pressing questions, which the President decidedly skirted the issues in “answering”. I find this to be telling of the President, and, in my opinion, shows his lack of respect for the American people. The President should remember that he works for us, the American people, the same people who elected him. President Bush himself said that he likes to keep expectations low. I guess we, as Americans cant be terribly disappointed, when we really weren’t expecting anything.

Perhaps the President should take some pointers from the literature he’s reading on Teddy Roosevelt. It would behoove him to especially take notes on both foreign and domestic policy, but in general, how to be a better President..

NBC usually gives the authors initials, and city/state, but for some reason they didnt this time.
