He's well qualified......he's lying.

Frist Expected to Get Medical Board Fine

Wednesday, August 30, 2006

By NANCY ZUCKERBROD, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist will probably be fined and have to make up for failing to do continuing medical education that Tennessee requires of doctors with active licenses.

Additional disciplinary action, such as suspending his medical license, is unlikely, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Health said Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Andrea Turner said Frist, a prominent heart-lung surgeon before coming to the Senate in 1995, is expected to be fined $40 for every hour of continuing education he did not complete. He also will have to make up the missed hours of continuing education within the next six months and do an extra 10 penalty hours within the year, she said.

"Disciplinary action when you don't meet the requirements is always a possibility. However, I don't feel the possibility is substantial,"she said.

Frist spokesman Matt Lehigh did not comment Wednesday on what the board might do, saying only,"Dr. Frist remains committed to working diligently with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners to comply."

In a license renewal form filed with the board earlier this year, Frist certified he had met the state's continuing education requirement _ 40 hours over the previous two years.
In response to several inquiries from The Associated Press, however, the Tennessee Republican acknowledged Tuesday that he had not done all the work.

I wouldn't want this clown for a president or a doctor.

Don't give me any sad, "he musta forgot" apologies either. This guy has assistants who have assistants who have assistants.......

He thought he was above the rules the "common folks" have to follow so he lied.

Typical GOP politician.

Please. Paging Mr. Clinton, Sandy Burglar, William Jefferson (D, Louisiana), John Kerry, and Hillary (Whitewater Land/Rose Law Firm) Rodham Rodham Rodham Clinton.

If you think elitism and deceit are solely the GOP's stock-in-trade, you're paying pretty selective attention to the situation. There are a few honest men in Washington; they're just few and far between. I think the Dems did a good job running one of them out of their own party not too long ago with Lieberman.

I didn't know Bill Clinton was in the GOP???

I'd agree with you if you left the "GOP" part out.

Personally I can't stand Frist and wouldn't trust him to guard a pile of dog crap in my backyard.

Am I the only one that finds the sudden adoration of Leiberman by the GOP as very odd? In 2000, they could not stand this guy and Gore. He was awful and they did their best to make Leiberman look bad. Now, only because the Democrats cast him out (as they did Zell Miller) because he was not "left" enough, well...the GOP thinks he is just dandy.

Check Joe Lieberman's voting record...theres not much reason for adoration. He's very close to John Kerry's voting record. He may not be as socialist kooky as Howard Dean, but he has voted for some very left leaning legislation. Sorry, but that "enemy of my enemy is my friend" garbage is not holding water here.

...and there are folks here that still swear we don't need a third party!

LOL

PS: Oh yeah, on Frist...wasn't he involved in some shaky stock deal, before he ran for Senate? HCA stock, wasn't it? He'll fit in fine with the rest of the "conservatives" and their high-minded principles they think they posess (if you want to call them conservatives...I personally don't think most of the GOP are worthy of the title)

I'm not part of the Lieberman bandwagon-of-the-moment club, and I have no real admiration for him other than the fact he seems to be a mostly honest guy in a political system that regards personal morality as quaint and outdated (on both sides of the aisle) and who's got his head on fairly straight regarding terrorists. That being said, he's a hardcore liberal in every other way, and I completely disagree with his politics other than his stand on national defense.

bd,
You should start up your own public access cable show where you read a news article and then say something ridiculous about it. I think you would be really good at it. I'm sure you'd get a lot of sponsors.
