In my defense this is a long thread..
No problem. And yes, it is quite a long thread. I guess I just made it longer

I'd go to dinner with her. I think she'd be a great conversationalist.

I try to stay out of the "Political" forum and had no idea things had gone this far. I am offended that some need to resort to insults of a sexual nature - including those regarding Ann. Frankly, I think the back and forth insults have no place here. I only took one debate class and I don't recall that insults were part of a convincing argument.

I doubt there is anybody else that would agree with me in all things. I don't think of Ann as my voice to the world. She is HER voice. If her footnotes (yes, there are footnotes) are wrong then please expose them.

Perhaps this should be a new thread, but now if you live in NYC and are not Muslim you are a "Dhimmi". The taxi driver said, "no, you can't bring that bottle of booze in my cab!".

We won't be defeated by actions such as the cowardice of 9/11, but the gradual erosion of our rights and freedoms in the name of political correctness and security.

Me too. Though I disagree with almost everything she says, I think she's an intelligent woman and I'd certainly find a conversation with her very stimulating no matter what direction it took. And as I said before, I consider her an entertainer above all else....therefore I would be very curious to see what she is truly about; what she really feels about some of what she claims to believe in so fervently (like her claimed admiration for Joe McCarthy....an "American hero" I believe she has said....etc.).

And though her stance on women's liberation often seems like a conundrum, I would definitely insist that dinner be "Dutch treat". LOL Certainly she can well afford her own meal - although she looks like she's not a big eater, so if I had to pay, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

I agree with this 100%....and if I were to ever have the opportunity to ask her (Coulter) one single question, it would be about that. To me it seems we have taken a loss in that regard in this war on terror. I would love to know how she would justify the obvious erosion of our rights. Wasn't it Ben Franklin that said something to the effect that those willing to give up liberty for the sake of temporary safety deserve neither?

Seems like there's a lot of that going around these days. The Patriot Act seems somewhat less than patriotic to me. (just my humble opinion).

I find it interesting that Bill Maher and Ann Coulter publicly claim to be close personal friends....talk about an odd couple. It's this fact, among others, that contributes to my aforementioned belief that Coulter is really a put-up character like "Borat"....this stuff, along with her well known NYC cocktail circuit lifestyle....just does not add up to the "red state" image of a gun toting trailer park borderline white supremacist. (Can't seem to find that famous photo...never knew if it was real or Photoshopped, but it was funny!).

Peace,
D.

Well there are even more "odd couples" out there. Perhaps the most odd, politically speaking, that I can think of is James Carville and Mary Matalin. I can't imagine what their dinnertime discussions must be like
