Mogadishu captured by Islamic militia

MSNBC reports an Islamic militia said it has seized Somalia's capital, raising fears that the nation could fall under the sway of al-Qaida.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13148204/

They have a live poll and their results kinda make me a little uneasy since the majority say we should never go back there. So I figured I would try their same poll here and see what the difference was.

MSNBC's results when I started this were:

Absolutely. Whether or not al-Qaida is involved, any ground ceded is a blow to U.S. anti-terrorism efforts. 23%

Probably. The U.S. military should begin to establish a foothold there just in case. 12%

Doubtful. It's still too soon to tell whether the group poses a significant threat. 27%

Never. Our failures there in 1994 should never be repeated. 30%

Not sure. 7.3%

I hate for our guys to have to clean up another mess but if it has to be done they (as in the brass) sure as hell need to learn from last time.

How about "Who gives a sh.." Why waste time in Somalia when we could be gaming for Iran. That's what's going down next, buddy. Like it or not (I certainly don't).

So far the results are what I expected. No one is completely against it and most are willing to consider our involvement.

Not many sheeple here.

Wasn't it under the influence of Islamic factions before?

If anything, Samolia Islamic militias are more of a threat to us than Iran.

Iran doesn't have anything that could strike the US at the moment, but if Samolia becomes a terrorist training ground, then we're looking at even more infiltration.

Personally, I'd feel a lot better about going to war to remove Islamic influence in Samolia than I would fighting Iran.

Odds are, Israel will do something about Iran anyway.
