illegal update.

So I don't know if anyone saw but part of this amnesty bill atleast now includes 370 more miles of fencing. Yes I know brickboy but its something!

Other than that it looks like just a little prettier pig.

Edit to add:

You can get the details here

Amnesty!?!

Don't say that around John McCain. He became quite upset about people continuing to use that word incorrectly.

I mean, amnesty isn't when you forgive people for their crimes or anything. Right?

I think we're going to be hearing more and more about that bill as time goes on. The Senate bill is something like 684pgs long. Think there might be some unrelated items hidden in there?

There will have to be a "little something" in there for Halliburton...won't there?

The thing I keep hearing is "we cannot just deport 12 million people."

At first, it sounds un-doable and yes, I thought it impossible, but the more I think about it...yes, lets deport them!

Don't say we cannot deport them...isn't that exactly what Mexico did? Deport all their unwanted dregs? Lets be nice neighbors and give them back, ok?

(cheaper than building a fence and much faster...don't tell me we cannot find them all...thats another crock)

If they would say ..."12 million felons" and tell it like it is it would be easier to get the round up started.

I think Mccain is about to get an office full of bricks.

If I rob your house, and I get caught, pay a small fine, but I don't have to give back the loot, I'd call that amnesty.

I am much more for the House version of reform in this area.
We will be talking about this bill, but the thing seems dead to me. I don't see how the House will reconcile with the Senate on this thing. The House wants the border secured, and the lawbreakers out. The Senate wants amnesty before security. It is a classic example of the power of the minority in the Senate and majority rule in the House.

It does sound daunting, but the government has wasted resources on much stupider stuff. I think it is really a matter of not wanting to deport all aliens. How many businesses use aliens to reduce costs? They are our new version of slave labor (along with manufacturing machines of course).

We can start by deporting those we pay to house in our jails and prisons. Let them serve their time in their own country.
http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d05646r.pdf has some interesting numbers from the General Accounting Office with regard to arrests for over 55,000 illegals had been arrested for over 700,000 crimes something like 13 offenses per illegal alien. This doc is about a year old.
