20% Club

Well, I know most of you don't believe in the gallup polls but George Bush just joined the exclusive 20% club with 29% of American's disapproving of the current administration. He joins Nixon, Carter, Truman, and his father who all have the lowest approval ratings since these polls started taking place. Dismiss it all you want but the average American thinks Bush is doing a pretty ****ty job. People are predicting that this isn't even the low point yet.
I want to see whats going to happen with his proposal of sending the National Guard to guard the border. This tool time of a president is just killing me. Has any other president stretched/misused the military as this guy? Lets send in the National Guard, as if they don't have enough on their plate yet. Never mind they're suppose to be part time soldiers and have done 2 to 3 tours in the sand dunes already. Lets see if this will make recruiting any easier. This guy needs to do the world a favor and eat 2 sticks of butter every day. Bush's failed administration. The fall of the Republican party. I assure you, come next election, Republicans will lose the House, Senate, and the Oval Office in one fell swoop due to Mr. Genius here.

As much as I hate to agree...

It's time we bid a fond farewell to the Neo-Con experiment and get back to traditional conservative ideals.
And while we're at it...Let's s**t can the loony left and rediscover the real Democratic Party. I'm tired of the freaks from both sides.

If you vote for Obama, you are a fu*king idiot.
If you vote for McCain, you are a fu*king idiot.
If your vote is for the lessor of two evils, then you can be comforted knowing that you're less of a fu*king idiot than the other guy!

Really....it seems so damn easy.

I should run. I bet I could get elected on a platform of:

Balance the budget

Keep our military out of foreign civil wars

Gun control.....limited only to background checks (no felons)

Abortion, prostitution, gambling...personal decisions, no government interference, except ability to tax (State by State).

Gay marriage...no. Civil unions to give "family tax status" hospital visiting rights, etc., yes.

Legalize marijuana but tax it very heavily.

No parole for second offenders (all felonies)

Mandatory sentencing for felony convictions, universal in all states

Enforce borders, but set up application process for anyone who wants to emigrate to US. Must show a specified degree of proficiency in English, have a skill that matches up against a constantly updated list of job opportunities and line up job and have a specified amount of money before entering country. Eligible for citizenship after five years. Children of illegal immigrants are NOT automatically US citizens if born here. Illegal immigrants deported.

Presidential term changed to six years, no re-election (let the president preside instead of campaign for first term).

"Manhattan Project"/"Race to the Moon" style government funded projects to provide alternative energy (100% non petroleum) and cancer cure. Eight year target dates.

Illegal campaign financing, lobbyist bribes, pension fund looting, etc. type "white collar crimes" punished as real crimes. Federal "country club" prisons changed to real prisons. Real punishment.

Elective universal health care plan for anyone who is willing to to pay a set percentage of income.

Tax exempt retirement savings/investment accounts of any amount in after tax dollars. Not accessible until age 59. (Like a Roth IRA, but with no dollar limits).

Elimination of all inheritance tax.

Lower drinking age for beer to 18 for college students that maintain 3.0 gpa. Or for non students who are employed and additionally volunteer 100 hours a year for public service. One strike and you're out.

Increase tobacco tax as much as possible.

Increase veterans benefits as much as possible.

Public school teachers must continue education through entire career to stay current and competent. Semi annual re-certification.

No school vouchers.

Kill all the lawyers.

Peace,
D.

congress' approval rating is a whopping 23%. I don't think they have anything to cheer about.

I'd have to agree. Forget the crazy right and left. All they will do is divide us.

I think if the president defended himself more his rating would be higher but. Its starting to get to be too late.

I'm with ya...

Both sides (if you want to call them that) have been hijacked by the same jackals in different clothing. Both parties are really only interested in keeping the system going at all costs and the people be damned.

Yes, a choice between Neo-conservatives and Neo-socialists is not really a choice at all. Its like saying..."what would you like for supper? Cat sh*t or dog sh*t?" Bush or Kerry? THAT was a choice? Really? How?

Neither party truly wants to take tough measures needed to cure our real problems, like oil dependence, illegal aliens or taxation. They're smart people...they KNOW damn well what the problems are, how they got that way and what needs to be done to cure them. Passing tough legislation or even mentioning it aloud could cause many of them to lose their positions and when it comes to a decision on principal or career, well principals go right out the window.

Look at the flip-flopping, posturing and window dressing going on right now from people like John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Bush...its shameful. The level of lying and posing in this country is out of control.

Those in power don't really care if you pay 4 bucks a gallon for gasoline or are overrun by illegal aliens. They have loads of money and live in gated communities, far away from you and yours and these troubles. They also have every industry in the county, showering them with gifts and goodies to look the other way or endorse whatever keeps the free flow of goodies coming.

Its a truly awful system...what we have degenerated into. Not at all what the founders wished for. It might also make it very easy for something more unpleasant to make its way into our political makeup like true socialism or communism. We basically have an oligarchy masquerading as a representative republic right now...do we not?

We need to either steal the Republican party back from those that are not very conservative or steal the Democratic party back from the socialists and leftist loonies....both parties are scary in their degeneration as to what they have become today.

So I can count on your vote?
I think I already have more electoral votes locked up than Dukakis got in total. Same with McGovern, and I have 2 and a half years left to fine tune my candidacy. In all modesty, I think my chances are looking pretty solid.

Too bad I can't just run head on against W today. Five minutes of prime time TV. I'd just need enough time to say:

"Hi, he's George W. Bush and I'm not. I have no family members or friends or acquaintances in Washington DC. Vote for me and I'll do you right!"

Peace,
D.
