i want you to ask yourself what would happen if you were caught driving without insurance? Driving without a drivers license? not paying your taxes. Carrying a gun without a permit? If you got caught with drugs on you. If you killed someone because you were paid to. Your probably thinking thousands upon thousands of dollars in fines, on top of 25 to life in jail, and then a little lethal injection for dessert. Am i right? Well illegal immigrants have done all of the above some have done all of them some only one of them. But we just dicussed what our government would do to you. So what does our government do to illegal immigrants. The Answer is they give them a free free lunch that you have to pay for with your tax money then they are given a bus or a plane ride home. I also want to ask you what would happen if you walked into mexico and commited all of these crimes. I dont think the mexican government is going to be so friendly to you. My friends there is an 11 million illegal immigrant occupation in our country and most people are worried about middle eastern terrorisim. Look at the protests on tv think about what would happen if they turned to violent looting? Im not saying that they will but it is amazing how many there are right out in public admitting they are illegal. So once more they dont pay car insurance they dont pay taxes, they have kids over here which now are our tax payers responsibility they dont have drivers licenses they are not subject to our laws. They steal your jobs, Then they send the money they make out of the country. Bush has repeatedly said 2 things first he critisizes defeatisim 2 we need illegals to do jobs americans wont do. heres some news THERE ARE NO JOBS AMERICANS WILL NOT DO. If that statement is not defeatisim i dont know what is. The difference is we wont do them for 2 dollars an hour and god bless us for it. To me the key word is illegal. Millioniares like Marc Rich, that cheated the US govt. out of millions and fled to Switzerland? Well, they get pardoned by wealthy politicians like Bill Clinton, because their stateside wives give a huge donation to their presidential library!

The continuation of the illegal immigration situation will bring about the end of the middle class in this country as we know it. We will become (maybe not overnight, but sooner than you'd think) a country like Mexico, where there are a few wealthy connected families that own and run everything and a majority of lower class people that don't own a damn thing and are esentially powerless.

Doubt it? Well, how do you think we will continue to pay for all the illegal immigrant's free rides? By the continual and steepening increases in taxes and higher costs on insurance, healthcare and other services. The middle class will eventually not be able to afford to own their own homes, pay for insurance or pay to keep themselves healthy. We will sacrifice whatever we can to keep our heads above water, but eventually, the cost of funding the illegals will reach a tipping point to where large numbers of what we know today as middle class, cannot afford any longer to remain at their current social status and they will enter the lower class. No longer owning homes, making decent wages or able to afford many services and items.

This is not being alarmist, folks..we're already seeing the tip of this iceberg and it will only get more and more difficult to have a healthy middle class in America, unless we force the immigrants to help fund their own damn livlihoods, instead of relying on the legal citiznes to foot the bill.

It is also immoral to continue as we are now...footing the bil for those that break laws. But i won't dive off into the immorality of ignoring illegals...thats an entirely different thread.

Many of these things cost nothing or very little to impliment and many will save us money on certain things right away. Cheaper than building a wall...that they will find ways around (like planes, tunnels or floating the Gulf of Mexico).

Make it unappealing and not worth it to come here and live illegally as they are now, and you won't NEED an expensive wall...think about it.

I feel for the Mexicans who come over here. They have a corrupt and ineffectual government which has run their economy into the ground. Think of what NAFTA has done to this country and multiply it; you get Mexico today.

However, as much sympahty as I have for them, these are their problems, not ours. They should try and fix their own country instead of creating problems for us now and down the road. If they stay then the "promised land" that America is will not exist for their children or ours. It is sad to think that to stop immigration we have to basically wind up like Mexico and make immigration unattractive for future generations of possible immigrants. But this is exactly the path our government is taking. Here are a few things I think the federal government ought to do, and it will not cost a dime.

I think they should enact strict punishment for hiring illegal aliens. Most of them come here for economic reasons so if the economic incentive is taken away then they will not come. Do you own a business and want to hire illegal aliens or knowingly sub-contract to companies that hire illegal labor? Go ahead, but were I in charge and you got caught then your business and all of its assets would be seized then liquidated and you would get back what was leftover from the costs of jailing then deporting all the illegal aliens you hired. This would put more Americans to work since wages would go up because the illegal aliens who work for next to nothing could not keep wages artificially low by taking these jobs. Many would say prices would go up, yes they would but your taxes go up to pay for all the services these illegals use while earning slave wages. In the end all those cheap prices hide the true cost of illegal labor which you pay in increased medical costs, city taxes for things such as the police and to pay for your local government to print everything twice, in English and another language, and, if you live in Texas you know about this, insurance rates and property taxes have soared to cover all the uninsured drivers and blighted neighborhoods due to overcrowding.

Do you run a school district and teach the children of illegal aliens? Fine, do that but you will not receive state or federal funds to pay for that student (hell I would like to cut off any district for having any illegal aliens rather then cut funding per student); go to the local property owners and explain why their property taxes are going up to pay for students whose parents pay little or no property taxes. This will make people in all parts of the country feel the crunch and people in say, the midwest and northeast and northwest can no longer say that this is only a problem in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. My brother lives in Mississippi and the Hispanic population in his state has doubled in the last decade.

Are you a governor that has decided to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens? Good for you now figure out how to pay for your transportation infrastructure since you will not be getting any more money from the federal government in highway bills.

Aslo get rid of illegal alien eligibility for federal entitlements. My political views have convinced me that any entitlement is bad and all should be done away with but cutting out the illegal alien loophole is s good start.

I would also amend the constitution so that being born here does not give automatic citizenship. Just like every other country in the world one of your parents has to be a citizen of the country or legally reside there to get citizenship. They call this the "anchor baby." Illegal aliens get here pregnant or get pregnant later and then have a child who is automatically a citizen. We can not kick the parents out now since they have to take care of a little American. It gives them an anchor in the USA.

Most still think it is a border problem, but more are coming to see the light, so long as they do not feel a pinch in their wallet. This is where you have to hit people. Lots of good, well-meaning Americans see the illegal aliens almost as refugees from a failed state. This is not far from the truth. When they have to pay for these good deeds rather than spread it around to the whole country and make it seem small by making us all pay then they will think twice about rolling out the welcome mat.
