I hafta agree. Oh, and as many antis as it pisses of, it converts a few...

I think this is much ado about nothing. There are no recommendations to close fishing in the US.

They only recommend that we study how to best preserve our fisheries.
The typical over reaction and misinterpretation.

There is nothing that indicates that recreational fishing will be closed. The proposed language fits with current U.S. environmental law.

Move along people, move along.

Just to further clarify...even IF Obama WANTED to kill the domestic recreational fishing industry...he couldn't.

Something like that scale would require legislation, not an 'Executive Order'. And I'll kiss Rush Limbaugh on his lips if that were to ever succed. Much less get to a committee hearing, or even a proposal.

If we are going to get worked up about something....it should at least be plausible. Obama killing domestic recreational fishing...not plausible.

French Kiss? 30 seconds?

Uggg my stomach is turning...

You forget that if they ratify a treaty, then the UN can come in with full Federal backing and police our waters.

You do recall that 10ish years ago Canada nearly banned all fishing as it was "cruel" to the fish. It was a hidden clause in a bill they passed. It had to be amended, but the libs never stop trying to take away our freedoms in the name of "progress".

A very accurate reality ... With all the bending over for the UN that has occurred in the past, it doesn't take a lot of imagination to imagine a BS treaty agreement severely restricting darn near anything in this country.

I could see it buried in some form of environmental agreement.

Not convinced either way but the language in these laws usually say one thing and mean another. If Shimano is coming out against this then it's probably a good indicator that the feds are up to some sort of shenanigans against recreational anglers. Thanks for the heads up!

Hmmmm, American Sportfishing Association Policy Alert!
