The left pillories Rush, but look at what they tolerate!
Here are a couple posts from the blog at National Review.com detailing claims being made by Mike Malloy, a liberal talk radio nutcase:

After last's night's post about how liberal talk radio host Mike Malloy declared JFK and RFK were murdered by the "right wing" a reader decided to email Mike Malloy. He then forwarded their brief exchange on to me:
Mike, You do remember that Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist right? And the plot to kill Kennedy was either a Castro payback or a Mafia payback (given that Jack Ruby was a known associate of the mob). You do know that Sirhan Sirhan was a Palestinian Activist and Bill Ayers, a Weathermen member and friend of Obama, dedicated one of his books to him, right? Are you that ignorant or do you just think we are? I was born in 1957 and I do remember.
Malloy responded thusly:
[Expletive redacted], you're stupid. Oswald was as much a commie as you are. Go back to school, dummie. What the [expletive redacted] do you know about Sirhan. Nothing. Go away. I don't tolerate dumbasses. Scram.
Man, Malloy is just class all the way.

Further, the blogosphere is suddenly infested with pathetic right-wing nuts who are otherwise unemployable and desperately seeking notoriety no matter what sort of lie they publish. The garbage they dump attracts the same cloud of flies as does a dung heap.

However, the only thing 'typical' about this is that a talk show host (i.e. 'entertainer') putting down the other side is pretty common with all. Witness the bullying tactics that Bill O'Reilly uses and then get back with me that this behavior is a 'leftist tactic' whatever that is.

IMHO it is a variation/combination of two of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals:
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
Rather than refuting the correspondent's point (which he can't do), he ridicules the individual.
