Sorry, not a good example.

The cut and paste thing is in reference to PV cut and pastes which tend to be inflammatory. This is pretty much obvious as far as I can see.

At this point IMHO, you are just looking for a fight.

Relax, OK? I'm asking nice.

well thats basically reference material.

Someone unable to form an opinion or form a response who searches google for a pre packaged response, or diversionary post, is in no way the same as eds helpful post.

Its like pulp fiction /yellow/ tabloid journalism versus encyclopedia britannica. Both can be linked, but the value is very different.

I'll vote 'yes' for C&P when it's done as supportive 'facts' ...opinions ...etc. to the OP or those that reply ...to support their replies/positions/arguments. When it's done as simply a 'drive by' or trolling effort <<
There's sometimes a fine line between when it's done for informative value ...or supportive value ...as opposed to when it's simply done to create a controversy or 'crap-storm'.

I also think that sometimes the purpose is obviously for the latter.

I've personally found C&P of facts/examples to be helpful in providing support for an argument ...or a counter-argument or point being made.

Also, if by C&P ...we are including YouTube videos ...they are sometimes extremely valuable in that they provide documented evidence to a past or current position or opinion expressed!c .... particularly by politicians that speak out of both sides of their mouth ...or just are plain and simple ...out and out liars!

Having said all that, I do wish that extremely lengthy C&P articles are a distraction from a topic and should be merely linked ...or just C&P the 'main themes' ...and 'link' the rest of the referenced article, for a full contextual reference!

+1 ...and a simple "I agree with this article" ...or "with this person ..." does not constitute forming a reasoned response, IMHO ....nor does it add to the debate or discussion!

If you're going to cut and paste an article it should have a link pasted with it to read the article at the source if you wish. It should also have some sort of comment from the person that posted it, otherwise why even bother to post it?

Of course, if the article is too long, cut and paste the one or two pertinent portions and include a link so everyone that wants can go read the entire article.
