I have seen some pretty crude stuff said lately and while it may not technically be "foul language" it's just as bad and only serves to engender a decent into the gutter. (This rule will also be rolled out shortly forum wide, this is a family friendly forum, it will return to the place where I am not embarassed if my 14 yr old daughter reads it.)

We are not all religious extremists, so this one seems pretty silly. I haven't seen too much on this board that isn't on a Simpson's episode on Sunday night. I have a 15 year old that hears and sees more at school then she could see on this board, and my job as a parent is too watch what she is doing, not whine about what everybody else is doing.

Obviously what I allow my daughter do see and what you allow are worlds apart. I don't allow her to see stuff "I" find offensive, but if I understand what I have read above you want to silence those that "you" find offensive.

It isn't about being PC, it is about addressing the argument and not attacking the person. If that is what you want, then open your own site called personalinsult.com. Then you could throw out a starting point and talk crap about each other all day. That my be fun for some, but I have better things to do.

The problem is that the site owner laid out what his expectations are of how we will act on this board. We all agreed when we registered with that COC. If some now find that COC too restrictive of their debate style.... seems rather obvious what some should do. Live by it, or leave.

Good points Powerman but we all come here voluntarily. I am most defintely in the minority on most subjects. I come here voluntarily knowing that I am going to get hammered. If those I take to task are going to throw haymakers I am willing to jab back. It's all give and take. I will agree that keeping to the topic is good and name calling isn't. But sometimes, calling a spade a spade is just what the doctor ordered. In the end, get thick skin or get out.
