Those are business issues if businesses are tearing up the land to mine whatever is underground or tearing up fertile agricultural land to build factories.
But who is allowing them to do it?
I have never heard of a mining operation traveling to any country and just starting an open pit mine operation or starting a factory without government approval of some sort.

Yes, you're absolutely right. Business in cahoots with corrupt politicians.

Or......OR......maybe there is a realization that in order for industries other than Agriculture to grow and thrive you sometimes have to take good farming land and build factories on it, or mine under it. As much as the Utopians would like to keep the entire Country pristine, this is not realistic and never has been. Even the Clowns in D.C. have mostly realized this over the years.

Nice try, but you're forgetting your own statement.

Since businesses are amoral and their only aim is to create profits, the blame for any ecological issues lies solely with the government that allows them to harm the ecology.

The fact is that you probably enjoy many products that come from those factories and mines that are built on pretty land by hose evil corporations and slimy politicians. You probably buy products from these places and depend on them in your everyday life and don't even know it.
Man...some people around here think that every business is Enron and every politican is Huey Long. This is simply not true.

No, they don't have a duty to give a sh*t about anything except shareholders and profits - and they don't. That's why I said they were amoral - not immoral, but amoral.
I don't work for a law firm. I used to. I work for a corporation.
No, corporations don't give all of their profits to charity. But, one of the roles of government is to protect people from the excesses caused by the amoral behavior of corporations - and it's a proper role.
Where is this in the Constitution
